1. Select a manufacturing industry making a product or product component - there should be


minimum 6 stations (production/assembly/inspection/cleaning/painting/packing etc.) and
minimum three types of material handling devices (trucks, trolleys, AGVs, robots, conveyors,
cranes, hoists, etc.) employed there.

 With the help of a neat sketch describe the material handling system. (5 marks)
 Explain why each material handling device is suitable there? (2.5 marks)
 Explain what all parameters were considered in the design and operation of each
material handling device. (2.5 marks)

Do paraphrase and include references. Do provide a reference for every image and table (unless
you created it). Your assignment will be checked with plagiarism software.)
