Slab Design On AutoCAD

The document provides steps to draw a one-way slab and its cross-section in a CAD program. It involves drawing the slab outlines, cross-section, reinforcement cover, main reinforcement bars spaced at L/7 with bent-up ends, and distribution bars spaced at 0.25m with 19mm diameter bars shown in the cross-section. Dimensioning is then added to fully define the slab design.

Object: to draw the One way slab and its cross-section

Step 1: Set the units to metre and precision to “0”.

Step 2: Select the line tool and draw the slab outlines of dimensions where the
L/B ratio should be equal or greater then “2”. (Here the dimensions are of
breadth of 4.6m and continuous length probably greater then 4.6m) The draw
offset of 0.6m in inner side for beam thickness

Step 3: Draw the cross-section of Slab with effective span of 4.15m and clear
span of 4.0m. And the 0.6m thick beam
Step 4: Set offset of 0.3m and draw the cover for reinforcement in inner side of
slab.

Step 5: For main bars set the offset of 0.2m and select multiple options and
draw the horizontal lines till the end and also give vertical offsets of L/7m as
guide for bent ups at the ends.

Step 6: After that trim the remaining main bars and extend them with the dotted
line to mention the bents up. And also insert main bar and bents with line tool in
cross-sectional figure of slab.
Step 7: For the distribution bars Take the offset of 0.25m and draw multiple
vertical lines

Step 7: Select the circle of tan tan radius and draw circle of dia 19mm above the
main bars and below bent ups in the cross-sectional figure to show dist bars

Step 8: After all give all the required dimensions with linear or dimensions tool
And mention the bars as main bars and dist bars, their diameter and the spacing
between them.
