Guidelines for the Music Culminating Activity

Dear Parents/Guardians

The AUP elementary school will be having their music culminating program this coming April 19,
2021 as scheduled in the school calendar with the theme “ Music Around the World ”. In line with this
we would like to request you to support and record the audio and the video performance of your child
separately and pass it to your music student teachers they will be providing the google drive link where
you can send your audio and video recordings . This activity is graded so we encourage your kids to join
this once in a life time event. They will be recording two songs one for their class performance and the
other one is for the Tutti song (All will be singing together for their finale song).

We are sending here the guidelines for the audio and the video recordings please read it carefully and
follow. The deadline of passing will be on or before April 14, 2021 to give enough time for their music
teachers to edit their video performance.

AUDIO RECORDING

1. No electric fans turned on in the room.


2. Close all doors to prevent unnecessary noise.
3. Use Smartphone, I-phones and I-pads for gadgets.
4. Record audio using a separate device (other than your video recording device) at most 1
meter away from the child. You can use a phone tripod for best results.
5. Sing together with the audio guide track (this will be provided). Be sure to wear
earphones. Accompaniment shall not be heard in your recording only the voice of the
child shall be heard.
6. You can use any audio file type Ex. MP3
7. FILENAME: (Grade Level), Audio, [Student’s Name]
(ex. Grade 1, Audio, Juan dela Cruz)
8. Check and save the audio recording before passing it.

VIDEO RECORDING

1. LANDSCAPE (half body) or PORTRAIT (whole body) FORMAT. (music teacher will
decide)
2. BACKGROUND (plain, neat, tidy, uncluttered area)
3. LIGHTING. Make sure you are in a well-lit room or use a ring light
4. Use Smartphone, I-phones and I-pads for gadgets
 Using the rear-camera is recommended; DO NOT use selfie mode
 Set your phone to airplane mode to avoid notification interruptions

5. VIDEO QUALITY RESOLUTION. We recommend setting the video resolution not less
than 1280 x 720P. (You can find this in your camera settings).
6. FIXED FRAMING. Put your device on top of a table or on a tripod — for better quality
instead of hand-held. Don’t move the camera around.
7. ATTIRE. COSTUME (according to the country that their song are representing. The
music student teachers will inform you about this)
8. SHOW YOUR FACE and always SMILE while singing. Keep your hair neat. Clip or have
a ponytail (for girls) neat and nice hair cut (for boys)
9. If the performance needs a musical instrument or other materials please make sure that
its ready before you record your kids performance video.
10. Follow or refer to the guide video link for the action/ movements in their performance
(music student teachers will provide the video link)
11. You can use any video file type ex. MP4
12. FILENAME: [Grade Level], Video, [Student’s Name]
(ex. Grade 1, Video, Juan Dela Cruz)
13. Check and save the video recording before passing it.

Note: You can play over the recording. Recording is allowed to be heard in the video. Few background
noises, and the like, can be ignored and are still accepted for submission since we will be muting the
audio in your video.
