What Difficulties Are They Experiencing in Teaching
The teacher is struggling with school paperwork like records, registers, lesson plans, and activities because they were not taught these skills in their one-semester education program. However, with the patience and guidance of co-teachers, they have been able to familiarize themselves with the necessary tasks.
While a four-year education provides more hands-on experience, especially with paperwork, the teacher believes passion and a willingness to learn are more important than the length of education. Skills like communication, relationship building, and classroom management can be developed on the job. Continuing education programs also help teachers improve, so a non-education degree is suitable if someone has the right personality for teaching.

1. What difficulties are they experiencing in teaching?
As a unit earner, I can say that at first, I am struggling in
making school paper works such as class records, school register, curriculum mapping, curriculum alignment, lesson planning, learning module activities, and others since it was not even taught when I took my professional education, we didn’t even had our on-the-job training or practice teaching because it was only one semester to take the professional education. Nevertheless, because of my eagerness to learn and also the patience and willingness of some of my co- teacher, I keep on asking and they keep on guiding me what to do that’s why as the days pass by, I came to familiarize myself with the things that needs to be done.
2. Do they agree that a four-year teaching education is a better
preparation for the teaching profession? Why? Well as for me, no because if teaching is really your passion and you possess the qualities/characteristics/personality traits of a good teacher then it will be easy for you to adjust at the same time learning. We can say that a four-year teaching education was more hands-on most especially on the school paper works but then a unit earner can also learn that, and in terms of those skills and abilities of a teaching profession, as for me I can say that I possess those, like for example communication skills and ability to develop strong relationship with students, I am a graduate of BSHRM and I can proudly say that I have a good communication skills since we had our junior and senior OJT which we were trained to communicate well with a lot of people having different personalities; when in terms of a classroom management, most people can say that an education graduate were much more prepared but I can also say that as a unit earner we also have the ability to manage students with different personalities. Well, there will always be a difference between the two but a unit earner can cope up and will always be prepared for everything that should be done to improve our skills, abilities and knowledge as long as we have the passion, the eagerness and willingness to teach at the same time to learn, that’s why we have the so called continuing professional development programs that will enhance and improve the way we teach.
