Formatting Text in Ms-Wsword
Formatting a text is to make the text more attractive and readable to the user.
Formatting text in Microsoft Word involves tasks like changing the text font styles such as
bold, italic, underline, and changing the font and size. It is also possible to apply special
effects such as changing all to capital letters or to lower case letters.
Many of these formats can be done using the ‘Font Group under’ in the ‘Home’ Tab.
Other features can be changed using the Font dialog box. Alternatively, we can use the
keyboard shortcuts for those commands.

Formatting Paragraph in Ms-Word
Paragraph formatting refers to formatting commands that affect entire
paragraphs settings such as indenting, bullets, line spacing and paragraph spacing.
Paragraph formatting lets us to control the appearance if individual paragraphs.
There are several formatting options available, such as line spacing, spacing before
and after paragraphs, paragraph alignments, and applying bullets and numbering.
Many of these formats can be done using the ‘Paragraph Group’ under the ‘Home’
Tab. Other features can be changed using the Paragraph Dialog Box. Alternatively, we can
use the keyboard shortcuts for those commands.
There is a Paragraph Group under the ‘Home’ Tab as well as under the ‘Page
Layout’ Tab. Each of these groups is used to perform different paragraph formatting tasks.
The features in this area are used to change the spacing between paragraphs, to
set the paragraph alignment, and to change the indent.
- If we would prefer to type our indent amounts, we can use the Indent fields on
the Page Layout tab.
