2. (10 pts) There are two machines and four jobs in a flow shop problem. The processing
times are shown in the next table.

Prepare the Gantt chart if
a. the order of jobs is the same order;
b. the order of jobs is 2, 3, 1, and 4.

3. (10 pts) The price of barley is 11 TL and 39.5 TL in years 3333 and 3334 respectively. Give
an extrapolative forecast for the year 3335 with 𝜶 = 𝟎. 𝟒.

4. (10 pts) What is the yearly installment of loan if it is paid back in 5 years if the loan is
1200 USD and the interest rate is 12 percent? (draw the time diagram and use compund
interest)

5. (10 pts) Your Company wants to establish a distribution center in a Manhattan-like


city. The distribution center must serve two retailers. The positions of the retailers
are as follows: Retailer 1 (2, 5), Retailer 2 (13, 8). Retailer 1 needs 26 transportation
per week, Retailer 2 needs 10 transportations per week. Where is the optimal position
of the distribution center?
6. (15 pts) Your company’s typical yearly consumption is described by the table below.
Make an ABC analysis.

8. (10 pts) The product of Good Business Co. is gadget. Gadget is produced in a flow shop
technology of 2 machines. All processing times are 16 minutes. How many pieces of
gadget can be finished in the first hour of the shift if the machines are empty at the
beginning of the shift?

9. (15 pts) The daily production program of a workcenter is 30 pieces from part ST101,
20 pieces of LA98, 12 pieces of BG50, 15 pieces of K23, and 10 pieces of ST105. The set-
up times and the production times in minutes are in the table as follows:
