    Classification of Pesticides.

    Classification Pesticides Function

     insecticide from the 1950s to


    1970.
    Class 1a  Used as pesticide for corn,
    Dieldrin
    (Extremely hazardous) cotton, and citrus crops and
    used formothproofing clothes
    and carpets.

     Is an organophosphate.
     Used as an insecticide to
    Class 1b
    Eldrin control household pests, in
    (Highly hazardous)
    public health, and to protect
    stored products from insects.

     Is an organochlorine.
     In the United States,
    Class II
    Chlordane chlordane was used for the
    (Moderately hazardous)
    treatment of termites at home
    until it was banned in 1988.

     Is a man-made
    organophosphate.
     Used to control mosquitoes
    and a variety of insects that
    Class III attack fruits, vegetables,
    Malathion
    (Slightly hazardous) landscaping plants, and
    shrubs.
     Pesticide products used
    indoors and on pets to control
    ticks and insects.

    Class IV
    (Unlikely to present  Is a carbamate pesticide.
