For this experiment, participants were being tested using a computer-based analog of a
classic maze type experiment in which it is being used to test the trial-and-error learning from
both humans and animals. The test aims to examine the time for which the participants will
reach the end of the maze, also how many errors they will make during the 15 trials. Errors
happens when participants enter a pathway that will lead them to a dead end, thus they have to
go backwards to enter a different pathway. The 15 trials will determine the results during the
experiment, and each end of trial will show the allotted time you reach the end of the maze. In
my experience for this experiment, I thought it will be just easy and just a simple experiment, yet
it makes me confused during the fifteen trials and when I started to take errors for the half of the
experiment. It actually tested my trial-and-error also my decision-making skills because during
the trials I really avoided creating mistakes to lessen the effects to my results but then it cannot
be avoided as I tried different paths to each trial which later will give me a realization. During the
first three trials, I reach the end fast and that as far as I remember, I did not commit any
mistakes then for the rest I have once or twice mistakes that I committed for each trial. When I
reach the part where there are only 3 trials left, I realized that the map seems to be just the
same basing to my observation and remembering each trial. I do think that the maze test our
trial-and-error learning because when taking the test, I took different paths thinking that maybe
the maze will be unique each trial, yet there will be pattern basing on my experience because
for the last three maze I do think that I did not take any errors and I just remember the paths that
I enter from the previous test to reach the end of the maze.
