By the way guys, if you don’t have any saffron, you can simply replace it with your nearest pure
gold leaves.

I made the last recipe in this video, Spicy Sausage and Rice, for my family this evening. We used
double the rice and it should last us two nights. Packed with flavor from every ingredient - the
bell pepper and fresh Italian parsley really make a difference. I spent about $10 and it amounts to
around $1 per serving. Not bad for a Gordon Ramsay quality meal!

I tried making that last recipe, the spicy sausage rice. It actually turned out pretty well! It wasn't
exactly as Ramsay made it though. I used a Cajun sausage with crawfish, absolutely delicious,
and some homemade stock. Anyway the biggest thing I noticed that I think I did wrong, the rice
needed more time. I used basmati rice and while it wasn't crunchy or anything, it wasn't quite as
soft and moist as I like it. I would also put the green onions in perhaps a couple minutes earlier,
they were good but had maybe a little too much "bite" for my tastes. I also added salt, pepper,
and cayenne pepper because the crawfish sausage wasn't spicy enough and I wanted a little more
heat. Maybe next time I'd throw in a couple jalapeños to make it hotter, but I do like more
spiciness than most people probably do. But overall it was a delicious recipe and I will probably
add it to my rotation going forward. And it was cheap! Total cost was under $10 and I'm gonna
get at least 4 meals out of it. This experience also taught me about potentially cooking my
veggies for less time to give them a little more texture and more flavor in the dish. This meal was
quite flavorful and I really enjoyed it, thank you Gordon Ramsay!

I love how gordon is like “Just a table spoon of Olive oil” as he continues to pour the oil into the
pan long enough for him to say it once again “only a tablespoon....”
