Let us learn more:
1. What do you mean by “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain”.Phils 1:21
To live is Christ simply means that all you do in this life should be for the glory of God. It
is for Christ that you attend school. It is for Christ that you work. It is for Christ that you marry
and start a family. Whatever you do, whether you serve in ministry or serve your family, you do it
with the thought that it is for the glory of God. In every part of your existence, you want him to be
elevated. This is significant because by exalting him, you may be able to open the door for the
gospel to spread further. When you glorify Christ in your life, you have the opportunity to share
him with others. This provides you with the opportunity to win.
With a knowledge of life's difficulties and all of life's obstacles, it was preferable to die
and live with Christ eternally. This is not to say that you should prefer to die; rather, it means that
you recognize that for a Christian, death is only the beginning. You lay down your struggle when
you die. You finish your race and spend the rest of your life in God's presence. That is every
believer's experience, and it is certainly better.
2. What are the hindrances of becoming a Christian disciple? Please elaborate
• Discipleship has another element, which is problems, despite the tremendous guarantees
or rewards of being Christ's disciple. The first one is temptation. If Jesus was tempted, His
disciples would be tempted in the same way. But what or who is it that delivers temptation?
- Who tempts Jesus' disciples? The devil tempts us. How does he do it? He ruminates on
the disciples' desires in order to tempt him to sin. Persecution is the second factor.
Persecution is a collection of negative experiences related to Jesus Christ, including
hostility, death, arbitrary arrest, torture, and incarceration. Jesus was forthright enough to
warn His disciples that something like this would happen. Every disciple and follower of
Jesus is called to serve God in some way. In that some of the problems we shall experience
in following Jesus will come from within, a Christian is an enemy to himself or herself.
Our human nature contains flaws and indulgences that make following Jesus Christ
difficult. These issues have the potential to pull us away from our Christian and discipleship
journey if they are not appropriately addressed.
3. How can I live a Christ-like life for eternity? Give a concrete example.
• If we are to live a Christ-like life, we must strive with all of our might to become as He is,
which entails learning about the Savior's heavenly traits. As we face our earthly
experiences, we must gain the ability to think, feel, and act as the Savior would. This is the
key to becoming as He is, so that we can follow in His footsteps and live a Christ-like life.
The first step in becoming Christ-like is to have a willing and obedient spirit that submits
to the Lord's desire. This ready and obedient spirit leads us to do the Lord's will rather than
the world's. We will become like the Savior as we continue to do the Lord's will, developing
many of His glorious traits. Willingness leads to action, and action leads to transformation.
Compose a prayer of perseverance as a disciple of Christ.
Heavenly Father,
I thank you for calling as a disciple of Christ.
I am sorry for my sins committed.
I ask you to help me to persevere more in becoming
A true disciple of Christ.
All that I am, all that I do,
All that I ever have,
I lay them to You.
And I a lived my life as a disciple of your Son,
Let me be a disciple to others too.
Amen
