NARRATIVE REPORT: OPENING OF CLASSES AND DISTRIBUTION OF MODULES

FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2021-2022

The Department of Education(DepEd) has been embracing the challenges brought by the
current pandemic throughout the school year. As we faced another chapter of new academic year,
DepEd, still affirmed that education must continue despite everything.

It has been announced by the DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtolis-Briones, that the opening of
classes for the school year 2021-2022 will be on September 13, 2021 based on the signed
memorandum of agreement. Given this matter, Bignay Primary School ensured that the school was
well prepared despite the issues and concerns regarding the new normal way of education. Due to the
COVID1-9 pandemic, this school year will still use the modular distance learning modality through
printed modules. Teachers were already prepared for the opening of classes and were well equipped
with the knowledge and understanding of the new normal setting this school year.

On September 13, 2021 at exactly 7:00 a.m., Bignay Primary School teaching staff kicked off
the soft opening of classes by welcoming parents and stakeholders following safety and health
protocols such as the observance of social distancing, wearing of facemask, sanitation and the like. It
has shown the parent’s willingness to cooperate for the success of another academic year.

Moreover, the day began with a brief program which was started by a prayer and had been
followed by the singing of Philippine National Anthem. The School Head has given her welcome
remarks as well as few reminders such as the rules and safety protocols anyone should follow. Then it
has been followed by the distribution of modules which was the task done by the teachers.

Thus, each classroom was used for the said distribution, health and safety signage were posted
to ensure that the parents will be reminded of what to do during the distribution. The teachers checked
the parent/ guardians temperature at the thermal scanner upon school entry, have them sign their
attendance, answer the health survey regarding their child’s health and go to their respective seats to
get the student’s modules. The teachers have discussed the weekly home learning plan to the parents
for better understanding. The distribution and retrieval of modules scheduled to be every Monday of
the week.

The soft opening of classes has ended with a productive and meaningful day for everyone.
