FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK

Dear Patrons,

I take the pleasure to introduce to a series of innovative training programmes specially


designed for the Indian manufacturing sector and its associated sector in the country.

National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) formerly ATI, Hyderabad under the Directorate
General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is one of
the premier institutes setup by government of India in 1963 for generation trained instructors
for the industrial workforce. Of late MSDE has leashed a number of initiatives which are being
implemented at NSTI, Hyderabad in spirited manner.

a) Advanced Technical Diploma Programme on IT, Networking and clod Computing


has been launched in collaboration with IBM India.

b) Training on Solar Technician is going to be introduced.

c) As a part of the start up camping being spear headed by Hon’ble Prime minister,
setting up of technology, innovation and incubation center in NSTI, Hyderabad is
under process.

d) Prepare to offer demand driven tailor made courses in close association with
industries.

Here our trainees and participants of various programmes get opportunity for hands on
practical training and learn to work independently under the guidance of highly experienced
and will qualified trainers which is hallmark for our training activities.

We equally emphasize on the development of core human value, mental and physical
wellbeing of the trainees. I wish to call upon all the faculty and staff members of NSTI,
Hyderabad to stand up to the core values, Join the endevour and shoulder the responsibilities
of imparting associated values to the trainees

Training methods being used , demonstration, practice at shop floor, class room lectures using
modern teaching aids (AV aids), computer based Training, participatory method, learner
centered and group discussions.

Industries such as HAL, BHEL, BDL, DRDL, DGQA, SBC, Power Grid Corporation, INS,
etc. and State directorates, academics such as Polytechnics & Engineering colleges are few
who have partnered with us.

Further the passed out trainees from this institutes are placed in various esteemed organizations
.
I believe in the team work, and any objective can be achieved only through participation of all,
hence I wish to call upon stake holders, trainees faculties and others to join together for
building skill ecosystem in the nation.

MISSION

To strive to continually upgrade and update the skills of technical personnel by systematic training and
keep them abreast with the technological advancement to foster innovation & emphasis on higher

ACADEMICS

In order to create high quality Skilled manpower, academic programmes have been carefully
designed under different schemes and are categorized as :

LONG TERM COURSES

Craft Instructors Training scheme (CITS)


To impart training to the candidates for becoming prominent instructor in ITI

SHORT TERM COURSES

ADVANCED VOCATIONAL TRAINING SCHEME [AVTS]


To Impart training to upgrade the skills of industrial staff / worker & Technically graduated
unemployed youth in the technical areas.

Various training programmes planned in above schemes for the year 2019 -2020 are listed separately
under respective sections.

TAILOR MADE COURSES

To impart training on specified skill & knowledge to the personnel sponsored by Govt. /Pvt.
Industries & departments as per their need.

Minimum requirement of participants: - 10 participants

Various prestigious industries have utilized our services to train their employee viz. BHEL, HAL,
DRDO, Naval Dockyard, Ship Building Center etc.

The above programmes are offered with adequate state-of-the art infrastructure. A right mix of
conventional teaching-learning mechanisms along with industrial support, the programmes offered at
NSTI ensure success. Our curriculum gets constantly revamped through feedbacks from students, mutual
consultation with industry and the advice from Government.
LONG TERM COURSES

1) CRAFT INSTRUCTORS TRAINING SCHEME (CITS)

Trades offered are :-


i) Electrician ii) Wireman
iii) Fitter iv) Turner
v) Machinist vii) Mechanic Motor Vehicle.
viii) Welder

Programme structure
It is of one year duration and the one year covers the following modules

a) Trade Technology-I (Comprising Basic components of trade practice and theory)


b) Engineering Technology (Comprising workshop calculation & Science and Engg. Drawing)
c) Trade Technology-II (Comprising Advanced components of trade practice and theory)
d) Training Methodology (Comprising teaching practice and Principles of teaching )

Start of session: 1st AUGUST of every year.

How to Apply
Admission into above trades are made through all India common entrance examination. Application
for the same are invited through the advertisement in Employment News / regional newspapers during
the month of June of every year.

Entrance Examination Fee – Rs. 300/- for General Category, Rs. 100/- for SC / ST candidates
Eligibility for Admission
NCVT certificate in relevant trade or Diploma / Degree from recognized Board of Technical
Education /University or equivalent

Preference is given to the candidates deputed by Govt. / Pvt. ITI sponsored by State Govt.. However,
private candidates with above requisite are also consider for admission subject to the availability of
seats, on order or merit.

Age limit :- Minimum 18 years, No upper age limit

Admission & Award of certificate

Candidate has to secure 60 % marks in Theory and practical (in Internal examinations) and also
an 80 % attendance. On possessing above requisite candidates will be allowed to appear for final
examination conducted by NCVT, New Delhi in Jul every year. And on passing the prescribed exam
in each semester, trainees will be awarded with Instructor training Certificate from NCVT.
