YOUR COMPLEX
COMPLEX WORLD
WORLD

The role of ultrasound continues to expand throughout

public and private hospitals, and in satellite clinics and
specialized practices. Clinicians in these settings –
accustomed to compromising performance and
support due to financial constraints – need
solutions that fully meet their clinical and
budgetary requirements.
• Public healthcare delivery systems face
high caseloads and a wide variety of
patients and exam types, particularly in
end-referral hospitals.
– The very best resolution is paramount
in making diagnoses and reducing
expensive follow up studies.
• New equipment budgets are inadequate
and infrequent, so it’s important to maximize
performance and features on every purchase.
– A remanufactured or aging platform can’t keep
pace like a state-of-the-art system.
• Cost of ownership is critical, so the quality of the system
and the quality of the company both matter.
– Financing, service and training solutions should be
responsive and as innovative as the system itself.

Clinicians are demanding smaller, higher-

performing systems specifically designed to
meet their clinical and operational challenges.

HIGH DEFINITION
ULTRASOUND MADE SIMPLE

HD platform
It starts with our most versatile ultrasound platform.
From its digital broadband beamformer with proven
SonoCT imaging, to its powerful XRES image processing,
every HD11 system is built for High Definition
performance. This means enhanced edges and margins
for more sharply defined structures, with reduced noise
and speckle, for better visibility and contrast of even the
smallest structures.
HD options
The powerful HD11 platform empowers you to customize
your system for your clinical environment, with options
ranging from stress echo to contrast and vascular
imaging. It also meets specialized requirements for
transesophageal, pediatric and vascular imaging.

With the HD11 system, you get an uncompromising

platform, plus the advanced options you
need in a highly mobile and easy-to-use system.

tissue signatures.
• With up to 9,216 digital channels per
0 MHz Broadband Response 15 MHz image frame and advanced beam steering
in SonoCT mode, the HD11 beamformer
acquires up to nine times more broadband
tissue information.
• Extreme dynamic range expands the
scope of signals upon which image and flow
data are based, from the strongest to the
weakest, for increased signal sensitivity and
differentiation in all modes.
• The system precisely steers and focuses
ultrasound signals containing broad
frequency bandwidths to improve axial
resolution.

The compact digital architecture supports

broadband beamforming with expanded dynamic
range, full software tuning and sub-millimeter
digital focus, which is fully-programmable for
advanced array configurations.

SUPERCOMPUTED
SIGNAL PROCESSING

• With its high-speed, vector-based architecture, HD11 achieves

extraordinary computing power for exceptional spatial and temporal
resolution.
• Patented Fusion Signal Processing uses parallel signal processing to
divide returning broadband signals into sub-bands and analyze each
individual component. These frequencies are then compounded and can
be optimized according to patient type by emphasizing penetration,
general or resolution.
• The HD11 system’s software-based image forming supports faster
control panel selections, expanded automation capabilities such as
iSCAN, and complex image processing algorithms requiring millions
of calculations per second, for true High Definition imaging and color
Doppler performance.

SonoCT REAL-TIME COMPOUND IMAGING

• Acquires and processes up to 9 lines of sight to display exceptionally clear images, free of
clutter and artifact.
• Margins are clearer, borders are well defined, and more data is available for the diagnosis.
• Clinical studies have proven that SonoCT technology produces images superior to
conventional imaging in up to 94% of patients and changes patient management in
17% of cases1.

• Supported on linear and curved array transducers with no reduction in frame rates.

MOBILITY AND ERGONOMICS

• As the lightest and smallest system in its class, the HD11 system is
the ultimate for portability, which is further enhanced with front
and rear handles and clear sightlines for users of all sizes—no more
moving the most challenging patients to take advantage of advanced
imaging capabilities on larger high performance machines.
• The control panel and monitor move up and down, supporting users
of all heights and allowing them to alter scanning between standing
and sitting positions.
• The rotating control panel and monitor, as well as logically grouped
mode and measurement keys, enable users to position controls
where they’re most accessible, reducing extended reaching that
strains shoulders.
• Up to five available ports reduce bending to switch out transducers.
• Advanced circuitry helps keep users and patients more comfortable
by promoting a quiet and cool scanning environment.
• The integrated footrest allows correct posture, reducing stress
on the spine.

The HD11 system features

advanced ergonomics and
best-in-class mobility with
elements to ease stress on the
user and patient, as well as
reduce risk for operator injury.

AUTOMATION

• Philip’s exclusive iSCAN intelligent optimization technology replaces

numerous fine-tuning steps on the control panel, simplifying and streamlining
most Doppler exams and vascular studies and increasing consistency
from user to user.
– With one push of a button, iSCAN automatically samples digital data and
adjusts gain, TGC and compression on 2D vascular images.
– iSCAN also operates in Doppler modes, providing automatic scale and
baseline adjustments.
• In vascular studies, Intelligent Doppler automatically maintains a
specified scanning angle as you adjust for flow, making it easier and faster
to complete exams.
• High Q Automated Doppler Analysis provides real-time measurements of
user-defined Doppler waveforms.
• The Harmonics key incorporates variant forms of Philips Tissue Harmonic
Imaging technologies to reduce artifactual signals generated from many
superficial structures. Selections include Pulse Inversion Harmonics
technology, which uses phased coding techniques to preserve broadband
signals and maximize resolution and clarity.
• The Fusion key allows users to optimize to patient type by emphasizing
resolution, general or penetration imaging characteristics.
• All clinical software packages contain presets for virtually all standard
exam protocols. You can also create customized presets for your preferred
transducers and exam types.
