This course deals with the principles of Management within workplace. Students
understand the intricacies of management that operates to extract work from the
employees. Students dig into topics like: • Basic concepts of Management • Functions
of Management • Structure of Management • How management and society are
interlinked • People Management • Leadership concepts • Quantitative methods •
which includes Production, Markets, National Income Accounting, Financial Function &
Goals, Financial Statement & Ratio Analysis, Quantitative Methods – Statistical Interference,
Forecasting, Regression Analysis, Statistical Quality Control. It also deals with Customer
relations such as Managerial Competencies – Communication, Motivation, Team
Effectiveness, Conflict Management, Creativity, Entrepreneurship

There shall be two class tests. Each class test consists of
subjective type. The subjective test is for 2 5 marks, with
duration of 60 minutes. Subjective test of each semester shall
contain three types of questions; (i) Very short answer type (ii) External
short answer type & (iii) long answer type question. The student (70)
has to answer all of them.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1) Discuss and communicate the management evolution and how it will affect future
managers.
2) Observe and evaluate the influence of historical forces on the current practice of
management.
3) Identify and evaluate social responsibility and ethical issues involved in business situations
and logically articulate own position on such issues.
5) Practice the process of management's four functions: planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling.
6) Identify and properly use vocabularies within the field of management to articulate one's
own position on a specific management issue and communicate effectively with varied
audiences.

formulate best control methods.
