LITERATURE
As I began to reflect on this subject, a number of
realizations happened to me, possibly because this subject is somewhat perplexing to me because I dislike reading works of literature. Throughout the quarter, I was filled with unexpected insights and new ideas. Writing reflective journals is useful to me because it allows me to express my thoughts and experiences about the subject. Aside from that, this is the time when I can identify the topics in which I excel and those in which I struggle to concentrate and learn. . Among the five different topics we've discussed, the last one piqued my interest the most because I had no idea how important it is to critique, especially when discussing literature, until we discussed this lesson. I realized that in order to understand a text, we must first understand its context. Understanding the context of a particular work of literature can aid us in broadening our knowledge. Aside from that, this may help us understand the message that the text was trying to convey. As I recall from our discussion, the text and context are both dependent on one another, which is why this is also an important component when we are about to critique a piece of literature. I believe that excellence is highlighted in this topic because without excellence, I will not be able to critique literature or understand a piece. I realized that learning this would be beneficial to me because it can be applied in real life, especially when we are assigned to critique a piece of work. In general, excellence is the value that we must adapt in order to excel and comprehend such things.
