This document discusses several studies that examined factors related to performance on the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in the Philippines. One study found that an education review program modestly improved students' preparedness to take the LET. Another study found strong correlations between students' academic achievement in college, including their grade point averages and performance on pre-board exams, and their scores on the LET. Multiple studies recommended continued review programs and practice exams to help students pass the licensing exam.

Readiness of Education Students in the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

Teacher education
is one of the most in-demand professions in the Philippines. However, passing the Licensure
Examination for Teachers, which is required to become a professional teacher, necessitates a
significant amount of effort (LET). The readiness of Education students to take the Licensure
Examination for Teachers (LET) at EAC-Cavite was tested in this study. This study used a
pretest-posttest design with the researcher's self-made questionnaires to assess the participants'
preparation to take the Teacher Licensure Examination. At the start and end of the study, the
paired t-test was employed to measure the participants' preparedness to commence LET. The
posttest mean (= 53.042) was higher than the pretest means (= 51.153), indicating that the review
program was somewhat successful at the conclusion of the study. Between the mean scores of
the pretest ( = 51.53) and posttest ( = 53.042), there was a significant change (p0.05) with a p-
value of 0.027. The participants are now prepared to take the LET according to the results. The
study suggests that the coaching and mentoring program be continued for future batches of 4th-
year students; however, some procedures and techniques in the program should be modified for
further improvement and to address the individual needs of the reviewees.

Licensure examination performance and academic achievement of teacher education graduates

This study was to see if there was a link between academic achievement and licensure exam
performance among teacher education graduates. Academic achievement refers to a graduate's
grade-weighted average in college and scores on pre-board examinations. The respondents were
1,017 graduates of a public university in Cagayan Province, Philippines, with degrees in
Bachelor of Secondary Education and Bachelor of Elementary Education. The researchers
discovered a large and robust link between the graduates' grade weighted average in college and
their LET performance. The professors' assessment agrees with the graduates' performance in the
LET, indicating that the university's evaluation method is effective. The graduates' performance
on the pre-board test was also found to have a significant link with LET, albeit with a minor
correlation. The establishment of strategies to improve the conduct of pre-board examination
review programs in the university is recommended in this study. It is also recommended that the
evaluation instruments utilized in the pre-board examination be validated further.

The examination for teacher licensure in the Philippines is facilitated by Board Licensure is

Navalta, et.al (2006), stated in their study on the "Effectiveness of the LET Review Program" that there is
a significant difference on the LET performance between those who enrolled and did not enroll the
review program, and that those who enrolled in the review program performed better than those who did
not.

Faltado (2014), found out that type of school is not a factor in passing the examination while the
admission and retention policy, curriculum and instruction, and faculty competence are
significantly correlated with the performance in the examination Pascua and Navalta (2011),
moreover, also found out in their study that the degree course; Grade Point Average, English
proficiency, and Admission Test Score indicated significant relationship with LET performance

that the academic achievement of the graduates in general education subjects was found to be the
best determinant of success of the BSEd graduates in the LET.
