SECTION B: ESSAY WRITING

Since the outbreak of the Corona Virus the government implemented most important
restrictions in order to tackle the spreading of the virus in the country. The restrictions
were the “nation-wide lockdown” and “social-distancing”.

Individuals and institutions were affected by the abovementioned restrictions.

However, some benefited from these restrictions. Movement within the country was
reduced and people were forced to wear masks and not be in close contact with people
in public spaces. The restrictions mostly affected institutions. Some of these
institutions ended up shutting down resulting in individuals losing their jobs while other

As an individual the nation-wide lockdown has prevented me from visiting family

members and delivering my business products from places that are far from me. In
addition, it has affected my business which resulted in loss of profit. I also had to resort
to a safety measure to prevent more loss. I ceased running my business in places that
are far from me and had to shift focus to those places that I can go at any time without
transgressing the restriction.

Social distancing also affected my daily life and in my workplace. As a person who
likes conversing with people I had to keep distance from people as close contact was
prohibited. In the workplace, dealing with clients became arduous as we were not
supposed to be close to each other. Furthermore, when they came to enquire it was
difficult to hear their inquiries as others are not audible enough, thus making our work
difficult also.

In conclusion, the government restrictions were implemented as measures of safety.

Despite individuals and institutions being affected, these measures were implemented
for the sake of safety of lives in the country.
