Security Regulations
Electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the VAC.
 Kindly Refer Security Regulations on our Website: Due to security reasons the following items will not be
permitted inside the Application Centre or stored in the premises with effect from 5th of February 2007.
 All battery operated or electronic gadgets such as cameras, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3's, floppies,
laptops, or portable music players.
 All bags such as travel bags, back packs, briefcases, suitcases, leather, jute or cloth bags and zip folders. Only a
plastic bag containing your application related papers would be permitted.
  1.     Sealed envelopes or packages.
  2.     Any inflammable item such as matchboxes/ lighters/ fuel etc.
  3.     Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.
  4.     Weapon or weapon like objects or explosive material of any kind.
 The list provided above is not finite. Other items may be prohibited based on security staff discretion.

 Get the passports delivered at your doorstep for an additional fee per Passport (inclusive of Service tax).Courier

 SMS Service
 VFS Global is pleased to be able to offer an SMS service which updates customers in India on the progress of their
visa applications. The easy to use SMS service sends an automated message to the applicant's mobile phone at
various stages of the visa application process. This is followed up with an automated email message to the
applicants email informing them of the status of their visa application. The SMS text is available in English. This
service can be purchased for an additional fee per Passport (inclusive of Service tax). at the time a customer
submits the visa application. SMS facility costs Rs.120/-(inclusive of taxes) per applicant. For more details kindly

Premium Service Lounge
Separate lounge with personalized service by dedicated staff, refreshments, faster submission at the VAC and
inclusive of courier and photocopying as complimentary services. Premium Lounge facility costs Rs.2000-
(inclusive of taxes) per applicant. The Lounge fees are in addition to the visa application fee and VFS service

 Important notes:
1.       Your visa application will be processed and decided upon by the Embassy’s/Consulates. Use of the Premium
Service Lounge does not affect the processing time of your application. All applicants will be required to follow
the instructions on applying for a visa, which can be found on the ‘Home Page’ on our website:

2.       Please note appointment timing is given for you to report at the application centre. Applicants will be issued
with a token number at the Application Centre and will be entertained as per the token number assigned. It may
take more time depending on the number of applications submitted at the counter by an individual
 Parking Information:
 Please note, parking facilities are not provided for applicant’s/visitor’s vehicles in the building compound of the
VFS Global Visa Application Centre located in Cochin, at Coastal Chambers. We advise applicants/visitors to make
transportation arrangements accordingly.
Note:
Your safety is our priority. Customers visiting our Visa Application Centers may be subjected to body
temperature checks to assess their health conditions and may be required to wear face mask and gloves.
Customers exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, including fever (higher than 38 degrees Celsius), cough and
difficulty breathing will be allowed to reschedule their appointment for another day and will be advised to seek
medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility of their choice.

1. Wearing a face mask is mandatory at all times within the Visa Application building premise.
2. Please ensure the Arogya Setu App is installed on your mobile phone.
