You have read an Internet Psychology Forum which deals with family matters. You have decided
to post a blog entry about family influence on people’s lives.

Write a blog post with your opinion on the topic. Include the following:
 Introduce yourself briefly.
 Describe to what extent family is / has been a big influence on your personal life
(personality, opinions, friends, studies, hobbies, lifestyle…) or not.
 Say whether you think this is a positive or a negative thing, and why.

Write approximately 200 words.

You have just got this email from your 28-year-old American friend Nigel, who works in
Washington.

Hi there!
How’re you doing? What have you been up to lately?
Sorry for not writing for a while, but I’ve been up to my eyes in work for the last 4 months…
and you know what? I’ve got a promotion!
Now, down to the bad news, I’ve been posted to our Spanish branch in Seville. And I can´t
speak a word of Spanish! I need to learn fast, because I’m moving there in 3 months! The
thing is I can´t go to lessons, because, you know, the twins are only 2, and I have no spare
time at all. Have you ever done an online language course? Do you think they work? What’s
the hardest thing to master when learning a language? Any tips to learn fast?
Oh gosh! I was thrilled to bits when they told me…and now I’m so stressed out.
