C. Language
• Good use of language
• Language errors are minimal
• No spelling errors (do not use BM spelling, SMS language)
• Varied vocabulary & sentence structures
• Effective use of discourse markers (first, next, however, likewise)

COMMON MISTAKES
• No opening statement or too brief (one sentence)
• Stand not found in the opening paragraph
• Preview of ideas absent
• Poorly developed points – too short, no examples
• ‘Why’& ‘how’ are not dealt with
• No clear organisation
• Poor conclusion or no conclusion
• Multiple language errors, spelling errors or the use of B.M
• No maturity in terms of ideas presented
