I. USE OF ENGLISH (WRITE ONLY THE ANSWERS ON YOUR ANSWER SHEET)

Subject 1

Read and write T (True) or F (False).

Thanks for reading my blog.
First a little bit about me ...
My name’s Ashleigh and I’m 16. I’m into rock music and computers. I live with my mum and my
brother (he’s 19 by the way, girls!) in a flat in North London. I’m still at school but I work at the
local supermarket on Saturdays and in the holidays. I give most of the money I get to my mum, to
help her out. Mum isn’t working at the moment, so things aren’t easy. Anyway ... enough of that.
What sort of person am I? Well, I’m fun to be with ... that’s what my friends say, anyway. I admit I
can be a bit difficult sometimes. I get upset quite easily. But I think it’s my age. You know, we
teenagers have a hard time of it, what with forming our identity and all that! I think, like a lot of
teenagers, there are a number of different sides to my personality. Sometimes I’m quiet and shy, and
other times I DO like to be the centre of attention!
Right now, I have to go. I’m studying hard this week because we’ve got exams at school and I want
to pass them all!
Don’t forget to look in on my blog again soon!

1. Ashleigh’s brother is nineteen.

2. Ashleigh doesn’t go to school any more.
3. Ashleigh lives with her brother and her parents.
4. Ashleigh works at a local shoe shop at the weekend.
5. Ashleigh’s mum hasn’t got a job at the moment.
6. Ashleigh’s friends think she’s fun.
7. Ashleigh is never difficult.
8. Ashleigh thinks it’s hard being a teenager.
9. Ashleigh is never shy.
10. Ashleigh hopes to pass all her exams.
