Rea SW Simple Network

The document solves for various resistances, currents, and voltages in a simple network given the resistance values of R1=100Ω, R2=250Ω, R3=350Ω, and R4=200Ω with a source voltage of VT=220V. It calculates the total resistance RT=198.7Ω, the branch resistances R12=71.43Ω and R34=127.27Ω, and all the currents and voltages throughout the network.

SIMPLE NETWORK

Given:

R1= 100 Ω

R2= 250 Ω

R3= 350 Ω

VT= 200 V

Find:

a) RT, R12, R34

Formula:

R12= 1/ R1 + 1/R2

R34= 1/R3 + 1/R4

RT= R12 + R34

Solution:

1/100 Ω + 1/250 Ω= 7/500=500/7 = 71.43 Ω

1/350 Ω + 1/200 Ω = 11/1400= 1400/11 = 127.27 Ω

71.43 Ω + 127.27 Ω = 198.7 Ω

Final answer:

R12= 71.43 Ω

R34=127.27 Ω

RT= 198.7 Ω
Find:

b) IT, I12, I34, I1, I2, I3, I4

Formula:

V= IR

IT=I12=I34

Solution:

IT= 220/198.7 = (I) (198.7) /(198.7) = 1.11 A

I12= 1.11 A

I34= 1.11 A

I1= 79.29V/100 Ω = 0.793 A

I2=79.29V/250Ω = 0.529 A

I3= 141.27V/350 Ω = 0.404 A

I4= 141.27V/200Ω= 0.706 A

Final answer:

Therefore, the value of;

IT= 1.11 A

I1= 0.793 A

I2= 0.529 A

I3= 0.404 A

I4= 0.706 A
Find:

c) VT, V12, V34, V1, V2, V3,V4

Formula:

V=IR

V12=V1=V2

V34=V3=V4

Solution:

V12= (1.11 A)(71.43 Ω) = 79.29 V

V34= (1.11A) (127.27 Ω)= 141.27

Final answer:

V12= 79.29 V

V34= 141.27

V1= 79.29

V2= 79.29

V3= 141.27

V4= 141.27

SUMMARY:
