A. Daily Routine

1. Opening Prayer

To make our day more special, may I

request___________ to lead the prayer. Thank
you ____________. (Students Praying)

2. Greetings

Good morning class!

Good morning, ma’am!

3. Checking of Attendance

Ms. Secretary, please check the attendance.

Okay ma’am

B. Preparatory Activity

1. Review:

Let us recall which of the following pair of the

triangle are similar?

Remember we can say the triangle is similar if

the three sides are proportional and the three
angles are congruent.

We can apply the theorem of similarity of the

triangle we have a SSS, SAS, and AA similarity
theorem.

For the first

pair of a triangle, we can see here the first pair of
angles are both 90 ° so we can see that we have a 1
angle now let us identify if it is a SAS or AA similarity
theorem. Let’s find the measure of this angle, to check
this angle make sure it is complement with this angle (
60 ° ) so we have a 30 ° angle (30 °=30 ° ) so we have 2
angles that are congruent therefore this pair of angles
are? What? Similar

By? AA similarity theorem

Let’s have the

second one, this two triangles are similar or not?
Not similar

Yes, these two triangle are not similar why? because

C. Developmental Activities:

1. Motivation

The name of the game is ‘’pass it to me’’,

where in all the member must participate. The
mechanics of the game is each member will
answer the problem and the group who finish
first and got the correct answer will be the
winner.

This class will divide into two.

This is the group 1, and this a group 2.

You may now all stand and solve this problem.

Problem to be answer:

(6x2 – 3x -5) (2x + 2)

Solve it vertically!

(Students raise their hands)

(-5xz4)(-3xy) = (-5)(-3) (x)(x) (y) (z4)

= 15x2yz4

Very good! Group 1.

Our lesson for today is all about the multiplication

and division of polynomials, but before we proceed
to the discussion all of you must be able to achieve
this one.

Kindly read

Yes, ma’am

Multiplication of Polynomials

 Multiplication of a monomial by another

monomial
(Students raise their hands)
 To multiply a monomial by another
monomial, simply multiply the
numerical coefficients then multiply
the literal coefficients by applying the -6y (-8y – 3y) = (-6y ) (-8y ) –(-6y )(- 3y)

Examples:

1. (4xyz)(2yz) = (4)(2) (x) (y)(y) (z)(z)

= 8xy2z2

2. (-8xy)(7xz) = (-8)(7) (x)(x) (y) (z)

= - 56x2yz

3. (-5xz4)(-3xy) = ?

Very good! Ms. Sarmiento you may now take

your seat.

Let’s proceed to,

Yes, ma’am
 Multiplication of a monomial by a
polynomial

 To multiply monomial by a
polynomial, simply apply the
distributive property and follow the
rule in multiplying monomial by a
monomial.

Examples:

1. – a3(4a – 3) = - a3 (4a) – (- a3)(3)

Yes, ma’am
= - 4a4 + 3a3

2. 3x(7x+9) = 3x(7x) + (3x)(9)

= 21x2 + 27x

Did you get that?

Very good!

 Multiplication of a polynomial by another

Polynomial

 To multiply polynomial by another

polynomial, each term in the
multiplier is multiplied by each of the
term in the multiplicand. Then, the
products are added and similar terms
are combined.

Examples:

Distributive method

We have Horizontal Form and

Vertical Form.

Let’s try first in horizontal form.

Now, Class we are done about

Multiplication of Polynomials, now let’s
proceed to Division of Polynomials.

 Division of a Monomial by another

Monomial

 To divide monomial by another

monomial, simply divide the
numerical coefficients and follow the
rule in dividing monomial by a
monomial.

Example:

1. 25x5y2z3 ÷ 5xy3z2
