1 Introduction
With the main goal of ‘People in the programme districts have improved livelihoods’, the Local Roads Bridge
Programme (LRBP) is being executed by Government of the Nepal and respective states with the support and
Technical Assistance from Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). In the context of the
Programme, the Local Road Bridge Support Unit (LRBSU) has been providing the support to the LRBP. Now,
the Local Roads Bridge Support Unit, (herein after referred to as the “LRBSU" or the “Client”), intends to utilize
services of independent consultant or engineering consulting firms well experienced in bridge engineering
(herein after referred to as the “Consultant”) for providing engineering consulting services for the
“Geotechnical Expert Services” done in- house by LRBSU.
In this context, this proposal has been prepared and submitted in response to the Terms of References (ToR)
provided by Local Road Bridge Support Unit (LRBPSU) for the geotechnical expert services.
3 Approach
- Prepare Review Reports containing Comments on the provided Geotechnical reports by
geotechnical firms with recommendations for initiating bridge design.
- Perform geo-technical analysis as slope stability, foundation design as and when required.
- Visit project sites and regional offices of LRBSU and interact with the field staffs to enhance
their capacity, if required
