Common Image File Formats

TIFF files are versatile, reliable, and widely supported bitmap format developed for scanners and photo editing. They allow for transparency and compression without data loss, making them suitable for logos. GIF files are best for web images and animations as they allow transparency and are small in size while preserving quality. BMP files are uncompressed Windows format ideal for high quality scans but result in large file sizes.
