The document justifies replacing a recommended submersible pump with a centrifugal pump for a deep well project due to the well having a very high production capacity and shallow pumping water level, which could cause overheating issues for the submersible pump motor.

Subject : Justification for Replacement of Recommended Pumping Unit from

Submersible Pump to Centrifugal Pump.

Gentlemen,

Based on our initial recommendation, the pump recommended for the Deepwell No.
2 was 15Hp submersible pump and motor. After performing a pump test at the said
Deepwell, the final result was a very high specific capacity that can produce high volume
at a low water level drawdown. It is recorded that the Pumping Water Level (PWL) is very
shallow at only 2.99-3.00 meters below ground surface.

This indicate that the aquifer has pressure that supply the casings. There is limited
movement within the Static Water Level (SWL) and Pumping Water Level (PWL) difference.
These conditions may provide limited heat exchange and cooling for submersible pump
motor and may affect the efficiency of the pump and may cause potential over heating for
the motor.

With this, we are recommending to replace an In-Line Centrifugal Pump with the
same volume capacity, however, the earliest time of delivery of our accepted brand is
approximately five (5) months. The alternative pump and motor that we recommend is
End Suction Centrifugal Pump that is available in the market locally to meet the target
date for operation.

Respectfully Yours,

Louie Maurice T. Balderama
