(big → bigger)

WRITING – PART 3 (Phần viết thư - viết khoảng 100 từ)

1. I went to a great restaurant with my family last night. Which do you prefer:
eating at home or in restaurants? Tell me about your favourite place to eat.

(Tôi đã đi ăn ở nhà hàng với gia đình vào tối qua. Bạn thích ăn tại nhà hay ăn ở nhà
hàng? Hãy nói về nơi mà bạn thích ăn.)

Hi Cindy,

How have you been? I am really happy to receive your letter. I am writing this letter to to
tell you about my favourite place to eat.

Sometimes, I go out to have dinner in a restaurant with my family and my friends. But I
prefer eating at home to eating in a restaurant. Because eating at home is much cheaper
than eating at a restaurant. Instead of spending money for expensive meals at a
restaurant, I can prepare for a meal and save lots of money for other purposes. In
addition, I would like to spend time with my family. While having dinner at home, we can
share our happiness and troubles in jobs. The food we prepare at home is healthier than
those which are severed in restaurants. We can eat food we like and the food is good for
our health.

I am looking forward to have your letter back.

Best wishes,

Jack

2. My favourite subjects at school are history and art. I don’t like maths. Tell me
about the subjects you study and what you think about them! What would you like
to study in the future? Why?

I am realy happy to hear from you. How are you? I hope you are fine. You told me that
your favourite subjects at school are history and art. Why don’t you like maths? Tell me
more in next letter.

My subjects I study at school are Maths, Biology, History. They are interesting. In the
future, I would like to study English. Because it is an international language. We can

make friends with many people in the world. Beside that, I can get a good job if I speak
English well. How about you? What would you like to be in the future?

3. We might have a school trip to your country next year. What do you think is the
most interesting things for teenagers to do in your area?

I am really happy to hear from you. How are you? I hope your everything will be great.

Firstly, we will go to Dray Nur waterfall and Lak Lake. Then, we are going to ride
elephants, drink coffee, visit the famous museum. Finally, we will eat special food at
street stalls.

4. I’m starting a new school next term and I’m worried because I won’t know anyone
there. What do you think are the best ways to make new friends? Please write back
soon.

(Tôi sắp chuyến đến học một ngôi trường mới vào kỳ tới và tôi lo lắng bởi vì tôi không
quen một ai ở đó cả. Bạn có thể gợi ý giúp tôi những cách tốt nhất để kết bạn? Mong
bạn hồi âm sớm.)

I know it’s very hard to start a new school, especially making new friends, but I think you

The name of the film was “The girl from yesterday”. It is a 2017 Vietnamese romantic
comedy film. There are two famous actors: Miu Le – the girl from yesterday and Ngo
Kien Huy – the boy today. They fell in love each other when studying at school. I have
never seen such a wonderful and meaningful film before. I learnt from the film very
much. I think you will enjoy it.

How are you? I am very happy to get your letter. I will give you some advice to keep fit
and healthy. Those are some experiences from me. It is easy to keep fit and stay
healthy. There are many ways to keep fit. First of all, doing exercise regularly will help
you to stay in shape, young and healthy longer. You can start by jogging for 20 minutes
after dinner or early in the morning. If you don’t like the gym, you can go swimming.
Secondly, your diet plays an important role. In order to have a good health, you should
eat more fruits, vegetables and avoid fast food. Finally, your work and life-style are also
factors which affect your health. You should work and relax, don’t work too hard, don’t

I’d love to find out that you want to know about music in my country. There are many
kinds of music in VN: folk music, classical music, yellow music or red music… but the
new generation of people in VN prefer modern music – pop music or rock. There are
many live concerts, from the city to the countryside. If you live in Ha Noi or HCM city,
you can go to live concerts every week.

In my free time, I’m keen on listening to Pop music. I love My Tam. She had been
awarded best Asian Artist Award in 2012 MAMA prize. Most of her songs is about love
and life around us. And what about you? What is your favourite music? and how is music

friends do too! Tell me all about your English classes.

I am glad to receive your letter. I wish you can join my English class. It is the most
interesting English class that I have ever attended. My teacher is very funny and friendly.
He answers all of my questions, although some of them are very silly. He teaches about
grammar and speaking, we also learn by listening popular songs or watching some films.
That makes me more interested in English.

My English class is good, my classmates are so good too. I am in a group with 3

culture. It helps us inprove our English.

favourite foods are soup, chicken noodles and vegetables. Do you like them? Cooking to
me is also an enjoyable thing to do. But a lot of people are so busy that they do not have
enough time to cook. So, they often eat fast food. As you know, fast food is not good for
our health. I buy food from supermaket where we can choose everything we like. I often
go to the supermarket twice a week. I hope you and your family will have a healthy life
style.

10. Could you give me some advice? I want to travel around your country for a

Ho Chi Minh Museum. In addition, you can try special food as Pho-noodle soup, sticky
green rice. You can go shopping in the old Quarter. Besides, you should exchange your
currency to Vietnam Dong at banks. How about travelling? You can take a taxi. I am
