50-51 Notes
Company Introduction
For nearly a decade energy efficiency Installers have trusted SOLFEX energy systems to deliver
there renewable energy products, solar thermal components and systems are no exception to
this. As part of the Travis Perkins PLC group of company’s we offer our customers a solid
reliable distribution platform and solar thermal expertise from a dedicated sales division.
The company origins are founded on supplying the solar thermal sector with
its own exclusively designed & European manufactured ‘own branded’ solar
thermal equipment.
The concept is very simple, thermal energy produced from the solar thermal collectors is gathered and stored in a
well-insulated tank; this thermal energy can be used for bathing, or in larger combined systems can also assist space
heating requirements.

Planning Design & Support
At SOLFEX energy systems we can also plan, correctly Solar Thermal Engineering
dimension, design & indemnify your proposed solar thermal
installation, from a standard small domestic installation to • Pre-installation & on-site installer support / consultancy by our
a commercial solar thermal system we offer a one stop trained professionals
solution to your requirements. • Project specific & bespoke Auto CAD hydraulic layouts of the
proposed solar thermal system
When specifying a solar thermal system for any building,
key bespoke requirements of the building need to be • Dimensioning & sizing of each component
taken into account such as: • Pipe sizing and transfer fluid volume
• Solar Objective i.e. domestic hot water / space heating / • Electrical wiring diagrams of the proposed solar thermal system
swimming pool or combination • Indemnity of the system design and specification
• Location & irradiance levels • Commissioning & on-site installer support throughout
• Occupancy & type of building ( i.e. school / hotel ) installation
• Daily domestic hot water usage and if there are any periods of
building closure
The above are just some of the details we will require to correctly
specify and dimension a solar thermal system, SOLFEX energy
systems will require you to complete an on-site planning document,
and our professional team will then be able to offer you a
bespoke specification & TSOL yield projection according to your
requirements with a list price quotation subject to discount.

Utilising the state of the art Multi Energy Solar Buffer Tank, solar thermal energy
is collected through the chosen collector array and is layered and stored in three
large stratified zones through the large surface area coil within the tank, the
primary energy within the upper zone is then transferred by the charge pump
to the plate heat exchanger within the fresh water station, this will provide a
continuous supply of solar heated domestic hot water.
The middle heating zone within the stratified tank is for the connection of the
high temperature heating circuit and the lower heating zone connections are for
the under floor heating circuit.
30
Combined systems unique Completely expandable system, freshwater station flow rates of 30 litres /
min and additional units can be linked to deliver higher flow rates, multiple
features & benefits tanks can also be connected in series for greater hot water and space
heating requirements.
Unique plug & play system for ease of installation.
Multiple buffer storage connections for other alternative energy sources.
Hygienic & legionella free domestic hot water due to no storage of
potable water. Optional secondary hot water circulation pump with in-built timer for fresh

For CPC INOX, the flow and return pipes may be fitted on the left or
the right of the manifold. Depending on the location of the flow pipe,
the sensor is placed on the right or the left.
The tube retainer can be mounted and demounted from the foot rail
without using tools. All sharp edges are sealed with rubber profiles.
The heat transfer plates are made of aluminium so that even high stagnation
temperatures have no effect on the metal’s characteristics. The heat transfer
plate is folded into both pipes.
