CHL v4 - U3 Task 7 Preparing Specifications (CT7)

The memo asks the recipient to help develop specifications for new hygiene kits by attending a meeting and ensuring the specifications include key information like what the organization wants to purchase. They should prepare by considering what type of details need to be in the specification and what questions to ask at the meeting to help create a template for developing specifications for future procurements.

MEMO

FROM: Francois Damba

SUBJECT: Unit 3, Task 7 – Preparing Specifications

To be able to purchase goods or services, we need to have a clear description of what Program wants.
The specification can then be used to tell a supplier what it is we want to purchase, and what we want
them to supply. Therefore, it is important to have correct, accurate specifications.
You have been asked to attend a meeting to help develop the specifications for new hygiene kits. These
specifications will then be sent out to potential suppliers.
1. Prepare for this meeting.
2. What type of information do you want to ensure is in the specification?
3. What questions will you ask at the meeting?
4. Build a template or form that SCILaid can use to create specifications in the future.

Thank you,
Francois
