1. How do you feel as you listen to the song? Or as you listen to the summary of the movie? It makes me sad because all the sacrifices and efforts of the parent (mother) were not paid off instead it caused a problem between the family members and the family has fallen apart all because of drugs.
2. What is the movie all about? Describe the situation of the lead family. The movie is all about a family that has fallen apart because of drugs and a mother who returned to the Philippines after working abroad just to find out the situation of her children.
3. Describe the relationship of Josie (mother, Vilma Santos) and Carla
(daughter, Claudine Barreto). The relationship of the mother and the daughter was not good. The daughter hates her mother because when her father died, she didn’t return home. Because of hatred, she used drugs, dated boys she knows her mother wouldn’t approve of, flaunts her burgeoning sexuality, and has multiple abortions. But her mother still loves her, accepted her, and made her realize and understand her reasons.
4. Who is your favorite character in the movie?
My favorite character in the movie is the mother because her love for her family is endless. She is willing to sacrifice for the sake of her family and I saw how the mother’s love worked that even she was too tire, she did everything for the sake of her children especially to save Carla.
5. What lesson do you get on movie, Anak?
I realized that drugs can’t do good on me and it will ruin not only my life but also the life of my love ones. I also realized that mother’s love is unending and everything she do is for her child’s sake. No one will love and accept me like my mother does.
Lesson 7: General Orientation on RA 9165
Questions to Ponder: “If you are asked to say something about the national drug situation, how are you going to describe it?”
The national drug situation right now worsened because the drug war killings rise during pandemic as did unnecessary arrests during lockdowns. “Drug war” killings in the Philippines increased by more than 50 percent during the early months of the pandemic. Nearly 8,000 alleged drug suspects had been killed during police operations. It only means that the drug users or addicts are increasing.
“What is the importance of RA 1965 Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2000,
specifically to you as NSTP student-trainee and the community in general?” RA 1965 Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2000 establishes offenses and penalty according to the different dangerous drug, regardless of the quantity and purity involved. It mandates the government to pursue an intensive and unrelenting campaign against the trafficking and use of dangerous drugs and other similar substance. As a NSTP student-trainee, I know that it is very important because it will help me to avoid the use of drugs because this Act states that the State needs to enhance further the efficacy of the law against dangerous drugs. The consequences when someone used drugs also stated in the Act so it really will guide us to avoid the use of drugs. The community will also be protected from the harmful effects of dangerous drugs on their physical and mental well-being, and will defend the same against acts or omissions detrimental to their development and preservation.

As an NSTP student-trainee, I can support the implementation of RA 1965
Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 by avoiding the use of drugs and raising awareness on the consequences of using drugs. It is very important for us to know the effects of using drugs for us to be aware on the consequences the moment we started using it. We can also show support to the Republic Act by raising awareness to avoid other people to be addicted too and the harmful effects of it to on our physical, emotional, mental and social-being. I can accomplish through posting on social media, printing information about it, and distributing it to the community. Abstract After reading the inputs shared in this LMC, do the following activities: 1. List down five each of the health, legal, and social consequences of drugs and substance abuse.
