a. Reviewing previous lesson/presenting

the new lesson

Good morning class! Good morning Sir.

Since we are done with our lesson about Yes Sir.
Momentum and Impulse, we will now
proceed to our new lesson. Are you
excited class?

Okay! But before that we will have a Yes Sir.

game. Are you excited with our game
this morning?

Very Good!

I will first group you into four.

(The teacher will group the class into
four (4). Then, at the same time, tell to
the class the area where they will seat.)

In our game, I will be going to flash 4 Yes, Sir.

pictures. Then for 15 seconds you will be
going to determine the words/phrases
the 4 picture is trying to show. You can
write your answer on the illustration
board being provided. Did you get me.

Are you ready? Yes Sir.

Here is our first question. What do you (The students will answer.)
think is the answer?

Okay time’s up. Let us check your (The students will raise their boards.)
answers. Raise your board now.

What do you think is the answer? “ENERGY”

Very Good! It’s ENERGY

Here’s the second question. What do (The students will answer.)

you think is this one? Your time starts
now.

Okay times up. Let us check your “TRANSFORMATION”

answers. Raise your boards now. What
do you think is the correct answer?

Yes. Its TRANSFORMATION

How about this one? Your time starts (The students will answer.)
now?

Okay time’s up. Let us check your

“POTENTIAL ENERGY”
answer. What do you think is the correct
answer?

Correct! Its POTENTIAL ENERGY

Very Good!

How about this one?

(The students will answer.)

Okay time’s up. What do you think is the “KINETIC ENERGY”

correct answer?

Very Good! It is KINETIC ENERGY.

How about this last one? (The students will answer.)

Okay time’s up. What do you think is the “PROCESS”

correct answer?

Very Good! It’s Process.

It seems that all the group got the correct

answer. A job well done class.

b. Establishing a purpose of the lesson.

Did you enjoy the game? Yes Sir.

Now, based on our game. What are the The words that we identified on our game
words that we identified base on the are: Energy, Transformation, Kinetic Energy,
given pictures? Potential Energy and Process.

Very Good!

Does the words we identified from our Yes Sir. They are connected.
game are connected from each other?

Correct. All of them are connected from They are connected to each other in a way
each other. But in what way they are that the Kinetic Energy and the Potential
connected to each other. Energy is a form of Energy. And the word
Transformation and Process is also
connected to each other because
transformation is a process of transforming
something into another thing or form.
Therefore, we can say that all this words fall
under Energy Transformation.

Astounding!
Energy, Potential Energy, Kinetic
Energy, Transformation and Process are
words under what we call Energy
Transformation/ Transformation of
Energy.

But what really is the Transformation of (Answers may vary based on their previous
Energy means? How does energy is knowledge.)
being Transformed.

Okay. Very Good!

c. Presenting examples/instances of the

new lesson.

I have here a picture.

(The teacher will show to the class the
picture.)

What have you observed on the picture? (Students answer may vary based on their
observation.)

Based from the picture is Energy Yes Sir.

Transformation takes place?

Why do you say so? (Answers may vary.)

Since Energy Transformation is Mechanical Energy, specifically the Potential

happening in this picture what type of Energy.
energy is being transformed?

Why do you say that it is Potential Its Potential Energy because as we all know
Energy? Potential Energy is energy at rest. So, the
Sipa has a stored Potential Energy. When
the boy throws and kick the Sipa, the
Potential Energy is being converted into
Kinetic Energy.

What will happen to the Kinetic Energy if The Kinetic Energy will be converted into
the boy will stop kicking the Sipa? Potential Energy and some will be turned into
thermal energy.

Very Good.
d. Discussing new concepts/practicing
new skills #1.

To really understand how energy is

being transformed from one form to
another, we will going to have another
activity.

The groupings will still be the same. Only Yes sir.

the leader as well as the secretary will be
change to give chance to others in
leading the group. And this time, every
group will be going to choose a reporter
to present the group output. Did you
understand?

(Before the class do the activity, the

teacher will give some instructions to be
consider while doing it like the necessary
rules and regulations. The teacher will
also give to each group the necessary
things to be used in the activity including
the activity sheet.)

You only have five minutes to do the Yes Sir.

activity. And after five minutes you are
going to post your outputs on the board
and the reporter of each group will
present their outputs. Understand?

You will now start doing the activity. (The students will do now the activity.)

Okay class times up. Kindly post now (Every group will post their output on the
your output on the board. board.)

Group 1, kindly report now your output. (Group 1 reporter will report.)
(After Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 and
Group 4 will follow. In every reporter the
teacher will give a clap just to praise and
motivate the students.)

Okay, lets check if your answers are all

correct.

What did you do in your activity? We observe how is energy being transformed
from form into another.

Very Good.

What does your toy/object do? (Answer may vary depending on their
toy/object being observe.)
What energy changes takes place as this (Answer may vary depending on their
toy/object operates? toy/object being observe.)

What form does the stored energy start (Answer may vary depending on their
out with? toy/object being observe.)

What form does the stored energy turn (Answer may vary depending on their
into? toy/object being observe.)

What form is the output energy when it (Answer may vary depending on their
stops? toy/object being observe.)

Base on the observations you’ve Base on our observation on our activity, we

discovered on the activity, what can you discover that energy didn’t destroy. It only
say on the transformation of energy. Or converted into one form to another form.
how energy is being transformed. Although some energies are being lose on
the process but this doesn’t mean that it
already destroys or gone. It is only been
transformed into thermal energy or heat
energy internally.
Very well said! Energy can only be
transformed from one form to another
form. Energy cannot be destroyed nor
created.

Kindly look at the pictures:

What have you observed on this picture? (Answers may vary based on the
observation.)

What kind of energy is being Hydrothermal energy is being transformed

transformed? into Electrical energy.

Why do you say so? We all know that a dam holds a greater
amount of water therefore it has a huge
amount of geothermal potential energy. This
energy is being converted into electrical
energy to be used by the people.

How about this one? Is energy Yes sir. Energy Transformation is happening
transformation takes place in this photo? in this picture.
How does energy is being transformed in The mechanical energy used to strike a
that picture? match is transformed first to thermal energy.
The thermal energy causes the particles in
the match to release stored chemical energy,
which is transformed to thermal energy and
the electromagnetic energy you see as light.

e. Discussing new concepts and

practicing new skills #2

f. Developing Mastery

Is energy transformation happening in

this flashlight? Yes Sir.

What kind of energy is being

transformed? The chemical energy from the battery is
being transformed into electrical energy and
this electrical energy is being transformed
into light energy and thermal energy.
What kind of energy transformation is
that? Multiple Energy Transformation.

Why do you say so?

(Answers may vary.)

How about on this picture? What kind of Potential Energy is being transformed into
energy is being transformed? Kinetic Energy

Why do you say so? (Answers may vary.)

What kind of energy transportation is Single Transformation

being shown by the picture?

Why Single Transformation? Because the potential energy of the arrow is

being transformed into Kinetic Energy.
g. Finding practical applications of
concepts and skills in daily living.

Since we already understand how Upon realizing and learning Energy

energy is being transformed from one Transformation, I can use that knowledge
through observing other situations where
form to another, how will you apply/use Energy Transformation takes place. In that
that knowledge in your real-life? way, maybe I can create or help society in
conserving the energy.

Through my knowledge about Energy

What else? Transformation I can really appreciate the
different changes or transformation
happening not only in my own life but also to
other people and to the entire society as a
whole.

Very well said.

Every knowledge and understanding we

got to our everyday lessons always have
a connection to ourselves and to our life
as a human. It’s up to us on how we are
going to use that knowledge in our
everyday endeavour in this precious
world of us.

h. Making generalizations/abstraction
about the lesson.
Based on what you’ve learned and
(Answers may vary based on the students
understand on our discussion, in your
understanding on the discussion.)
own words what is energy
transformation?

Can anyone give me some examples

(Answer may vary base on the observation.)
again of how energy transformation
takes place by observing your
surroundings.
