SolVe Desktop
The SolVe Desktop tool is used to access reference material, and installation,
update, and maintenance guides for many Dell EMC products. It also provides
procedures for common tasks. However, for PowerMax and VMAX All Flash
products the procedure generators are not in SolVe. SolVe provides the links to the
procedure generators. There is also an online version available. To access the
online version, click the link solveonline.emc.com/solve/home.
1. In this part of the exercise, you download SolVe Desktop from Dell EMC
Support and familiarize yourself with the interface. Go to
dell.com/support/home.
2. In the search field type, solve desktop. Download and install the SolVe
Desktop tool.
3. To download the product information set, click the PowerMax and VMAX icon.
Note: View progress in the lower left of the SolVe Desktop screen.
4. Once the download is complete, click the PowerMax and VMAX icon. If you
receive a dialog stating, “Updated content is available,” follow the prompts to
update the content. Updating can take some time depending on the amount of
information to update and network speed. Progress of the update can be
monitored in the lower left of the screen.
