Data Engineer ($1500-2200)

Position Summary

At GM, you, as a Data Engineer, have the unique opportunity to build and develop a
Data team from the ground-up for one of the fastest growing FinTech companies in
Vietnam.
GM is exploring a completely new segment of FinTech – the development of Earned
Wage Access (EWA) model. The concept is as simple as it sounds, allowing employees
to get paid as they earn. By introducing it to Vietnam’s market and modifying the
model to entail the needs of the majority of Vietnam’s population, we are hoping to
change the lives of millions of underbanked workers who are experiencing daily
financial struggles.

Responsibilities
• Design the architecture and implement the data processing pipeline for GM data
analytics system;
• Collect, process, store and analyse our ever-growing customer data;
• Build high-performance, mission critical APIs to allow various customer-facing and
internal services to query data, perform analytics;
• Brainstorm, discuss with various financial experts from other departments to develop
insights about our business and how data will help push our business further;
• Build action-enable, real-time analytics dashboard that play a critical role in our
business decision;
• Build plan to hire and expand Data team’s human resources to constantly perfect
and develop our data analytics system.

Qualifications
• Proven working experience as a Data Engineer;
• Strong in data structures and algorithms and have a good knowledge in data
analysis;
• Experienced with building Data Warehouse using both SQL and NoSQL databases
such as MSSQL, Elastic Search;
• Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: Java / Scala /
Python;
• Experience with cloud services suchs as Google Big Query or Amazon Athena is a
plus;
• Proactive and resilient working attitude;
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or any other related
fields.
