First Conditional

Directions: Choose the correct verb tense in each of the following sentences.

1. If she goes to the birthday party, she Will take a present.


2. I Will call the doctor if my stomach still hurts tomorrow.
3. She will do the exercise again if she makes a lot of mistakes.
4. If they practice a lot, they Will win the game.
5. I will take my umbrella if it rains tomorrow.
6. She will marry him if he asks her.
7. If we go out tonight, we Will lock the door.
8. I will make a sandwich if I am hungry.

Directions: Complete the following sentences using the correct form of the verb

provided.

1. If Robert goes (go) to bed late, he Will sleep in(sleep in).


2. If he sleeps in (sleep in), he Will miss (miss) his bus.
3. If he misses (miss) the bus, he Will be (be) late for work.
4. If he is (be) late for work, his boss Will be (be) angry.
5. If Robert’s boss is (be) angry, he Will fire (fire) him.
6. If Robert loses (lose) his job, his girlfriend Will get (get) upset
with him.
7. If Robert’s girlfriend gets (get) upset again, she Will break

their party.

beer.
12. If Robert drinks (drink) too much beer, he Will need (need) a
ride home.
13. If Robert needs (need) a ride home, he Will have to (have
to) stay until the end of the party.
14. If Robert stays (stay) until the end of the party, he Will get (get)
home very late.
15. If Robert gets (get) home late, he Will go (go) to bed late.
