Instrument Security Procedures

Models:
Fluke 87-IV, Fluke 89-IV, Fluke 187, Fluke 189

Product Name:
True RMS Multimeter

Instrument Description:
Digital/Analog Multimeters

Memory Description:
Fluke 87-IV, 89-IV, 187 and 189 have three memory devices:
1. U12, SRAM, KM62U256CLTG, 32k x 8 bytes, volatile memory used to
store saved and logged readings, maintained by a capacitor.
2. U16, mask ROM micro controller with 2k x 8 bytes RAM, Sharp SM6004,
contains operating code for the product
3. U10, serial EEPROM, 33C116, 2k x 8 bytes, non-volatile memory used to
store calibration constants.
Calibration constants are stored in U10. The calibration constants are generated
when the meter is sent through it's calibration process and are fundamental to
the meter operation. The internal micro controller, U16, RAM is not accessible to
the user through the remote interface and it's contents are lost when the meter is
turned off.
