Objective: Maintain a Global Standard for consistency on the data reporting (quality & standardization)
Performance Criteria
1. Introduction
This guideline document has been developed to enable Halliburton Surface Well Testing (SWT) and Multiphase
Flow Meter (MPFM) Operations to produce a consistent quality data report for clients who do not specify such
requirements.
2. Unit Definitions
SWT Product Line (Including MPFM applications) reports shall use Imperial units as a general rule. The table below
is a general guide for the most commonly used units.
Diameter in
Choke / 64th
Area in²
Pressure psig
Conductivity mho
Counts cts/s
Fractions %
Frequency Hz
GOR scf/bbl
Mass lb
Mass (Sand) lb
Tension N/m
Velocity ft/s
Viscosity cP
3. Standard Nomenclature

4. Manual Readings
Readings for Wellhead Pressure, Temperature and Flow line pressures should be routinely cross checked with the
readings from the transmitters sending data to Surface Data Acquisition System (SDAS). Call the SDAS operator up
and check with them at least once an hour for cross checks on transmitters whilst testing is taking place.
• Wellhead Data
- Wellhead Pressure (upstream choke manifold)
- Wellhead Temperature (upstream choke manifold)
- Choke Size
- Downstream Pressure (downstream choke manifold, but upstream the heat exchanger)
- BS&W (downstream choke manifold)
- H2S content (downstream choke manifold)
• Gas Metering
- Orifice Size
- Static Pressure (used in gas calculation)
- Diff. Pressure
- Temperature (of gas meter run)
- Gas Gravity
- H2S content of gas
• Water Metering
- Tank 1 or Meter Reading
- Tank 2 or Meter Reading
- Salinity
The time intervals used between manual readings are dependant on the period during which the readings are being
taken. The durations between readings are of course subject to orders given by the client representative on
location, hence the below table is just a guideline. Typically the general rule is that we will log data every 15 minutes
during normal flow periods and every 30 minutes during normal shut-ins.

5. Electronic Readings
The SDAS system sample-rate is normally set to 1 minute rate prior to opening the well, closing in the well, choke
changes and any other operations which affect well conditions. Export data rates should be of 1 - minute readings
prior to opening and closing in the well, and after a choke change and any other operation which alters the well
conditions. Export rates can be increased to 5 minutes and then 15 minutes once the well has stabilized.

conditions
Orifice flow constant :- C = Fb × Fr × Y1 × Fpb × Ftb × Ftf × Fgr × Fpv × Fa × (unit conversion factor)
where :-
Fb = Basic orifice factor
Fr = Reynolds number factor
Y1 = Upstream expansion factor
Fpb = Pressure base factor = 1, as Pb = Pst = 14.73 psia is assumed
Ftb = Temperature base factor = 1, as Tb = Tst = 60 deg F is assumed
Ftf = Flowing temperature factor = √ (1 / Tf1)
Fgr = Real gas relative density factor = √ (1 / SG)
Fpv = Supercompressibility factor = √ (Zst / Zf1), as Zb = Zst is assumed
Fa = Orifice thermal expansion factor

7. Report Format
The Client is supplied initially with a single copy on CD. This is for their review and comment. This should ideally be
supplied on a CD-RW (re-writeable format CD) so if they wish, they can add their comments on a file and attach it to
the actual report on the CD. A Separate CD-RW should be supplied for each report.
The report is supplied in two formats, one is the final EXCEL format and the other is Adobe PDF format.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These reports must be password protected for editing and alteration. They should only
be able to read and print the data, not edit it. The password is issued by the Coordinator in town.
This is currently under review, but at present the following is a guide as to what sections are required and where
they are located. This same layout should be used for creating the layout in the bookmarks for the PDF files as well.
