Bearing Housing Parts


NX Assignment 2
Due Date: January 30, 2022

Create solid models of the parts for assembly shown in Figure 1 below in NX. All measurements are in
SI [mm, kg, s] units unless explicitly specified.

Grading
Assignments will be scored as follows:

#10 Washer: 5 points


Socket Head Screw: 5 points
Oil Cap: 10 points
Bushing: 10 points
Bearing Base: 15 points
Bearing Cover: 15 points
Total 60 Points

Place all part files into a zipped (compressed) folder and submit the folder on Canvas. Name the zipped
folder using the following naming convention ME1761_SP21_NX_2_Joe_Miner.

Step 1: #10 Washer
Go to McMaster-CARR and search for
316 Stainless Steel Washer
Size : #10 Screw
Part : #90107A011
Download the 3-D Solidworks FILE and convert it to the NX part file. Save it in the parts folder.

Step 2: Socket Head Screw


Go to McMaster-CARR and search for
Super-Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel Socket Head Screw
Size : #10-32 x 1/2” Long Fully Threaded
Part : #92185A989
Download the 3-D STEP FILE and convert to the NX part file. Save it in the parts folder.

Step 3: Bushing
Revolved part. Use the dimensions given in the side view shown in Figure 2 to the left of the 3D part.

Step 3: Oil Cap


Revolved part. Use the dimensions given in the side view shown in Figure 3 to the left of the 3D part.

Step 5: Bearing Cover
Extruded part. Use the dimensions given in the side view shown in Figure 4 to the left of the 3D part
Hints: Draw the profile shown in Figure 4 and extrude it then add the holes with method of your
choice.

Step 6: Bearing Base


Extruded part. Use the dimensions given in the views shown in Figure 5b for 3D part in Figure 5.

Hints:

1 x 45o : Use Chamfer feature to create a symmetric 1 mm x 45o chamfer on the edge of the slots.
R2: Use the edge blend feature to create 2 mm edge blend on the corners.
#10x32 UNF-2B -12.7 Deep Draw the center locations of the screw holes and then use Hole feature
to create threaded hole with following settings: Standard: Inch UNF, Size #10-32, Depth Limit :
0.5 in.

Step 7: Submission
Place the parts file and all files downloaded from McMaster-CARR into a zipped (compressed) folder
and submit the folder on Canvas. Name the zipped folder using the following naming convention
ME1761_SP22_NX_2_Joe_Miner.
