Direction: Write Your Answers in A 1 Whole Sheet of Paper

The document outlines learning objectives and content for a module on set theory. It describes four sub-modules that will cover basics of sets, set operations like union and intersection, Venn diagrams, and how to apply set theory to real-life problems. Students are asked to define key terms and draw and label a Venn diagram.

DIRECTION: WRITE YOUR ANSWERS IN A 1 WHOLE SHEET OF PAPER.

Learning Objectives

 Describe memberships of sets, including the empty set, using proper notation, and decide
whether given items are members and determine the cardinality of a given set.
 Describe the relations between sets regarding membership, equality, subset, and proper
subset, using proper notation.
 Perform the operations of union, intersection, complement, and difference on sets using
proper notation.
 Be able to draw and interpret Venn diagrams of set relations and operations and use
Venn diagrams to solve problems.
 Recognize when set theory is applicable to real-life situations, solve real-life problems, and
communicate real-life problems and solutions to others

This module is divided into four sections/sub-modules:

Sub-Module 1: Basics of Set.

 What is set? (GIVE THE MEANING OF THE WORD SET IN 2 PARAGRAPHS)

 Give the meaning of the Three ways to write a set and give/show examples in each ways:
"verbal description", "roster form" , "set builder notation"

Sub-Module 2: Union, intersection, complement and universal set.

Give the meaning and example of the ff: in Paragraph form.

 Union of sets
 Intersection of sets
 Complement of sets
 Universal sets

Sub-Module 3: Venn diagram.

 What is Venn diagram and how to draw it

 Create your own venn diagram
Self Activity:

Create your own problems with choices from A-D with answers key and
solution.
(Note: You can write it using ballpen-paper or it can also be incoded.)
