INTRODUCTION
DIGITAL CONTENT WRITER

A digital content writer writes, develops, edits, and publishes content and copy
for a variety of digital platforms, including websites, blogs, videos, email
marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, social media posts, infographics,
whitepapers, and more.  Digital content writers create messaging, marketing
materials, and various forms of digital online copy that can be used by an
organization to sell or promote services, increase brand awareness, etc.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative storyteller within brand standards

Digital content writers are creative storytellers within brand standards. While
they are not asked to manage a company brand, they follow company brand
guidelines to ensure their messaging is consistent with company
guidelines/value/mission. Digital content writers are skilled at developing and
promoting a company brand, service, or product through the various digital
content they produce.

Produce and publish

The best digital content writers are able to successfully contribute to a wide

media, and more. Digital content writers usually have experience using content

digital platforms. More specifically, I got to:

 Write, edit and publish content for websites, blogs, videos, social media
posts/campaigns, email campaigns, podcasts, e-books, whitepapers, and
more
 Create content that motivates, inspires, educates, informs, sells, and
simply, provides information, across a wide variety of digital platforms
 Work closely with the digital marketing team to produce content that
generates results
 Use your editing, content management, and HTML skills to publish and
edit content across various digital platforms
 Use your knowledge of SEO and content development to create digital
content that helps us get found via search engines, and showcases our
company as a leader within the industry
 Become an influencer who makes an impact on the company and within
the industry through the production of digital content
 NEWS WRITING
Journalists commonly use six values to determine how newsworthy a story or elements
of a story are. Knowing the news values can help a journalist make many decisions,
including:

 What information to give first in a news article?

 Which articles to display on a newspaper’s front page?
 What questions to ask in an interview?

The six news values are:

1. Timeliness- Recent events have a higher news value than less recent
ones.
2. Proximity- Stories taking place in one’s hometown or community are
more newsworthy than those taking place far away.
3. Prominence- Famous people and those in the public eye have a higher
news value than ordinary citizens.
4. Uniqueness/oddity- A story with a bizarre twist or strange occurrences.
“Man, bites dog” instead of “dog bites man.”
5. Impact- Stories that impact a large number of people may be more
newsworthy than those impacting a smaller number of people.
6. Conflict- “If it bleeds, it leads.” Stories with strife, whether it’s actual
violence or not, are more interesting.

The newsworthiness of a story is determined by a balance of these six values. There is

no set formula to decide how newsworthy a story is, but in general, the more of these
six values a story meets, the more newsworthy it is.

 CHAPTER 4:
LEARNING AND OBJECTIVE
  OBJECTIVE OF FUNCTIONAL EXPOSURE REPORT :

Each student of BJMC programme is to engage himself/herself in internship at

the end of fourth semester. It is an exercise in ‘ Organizational Interface’ with
reference to various aspects of chosen area of media tasks and functions.
The academic objectives of internship are to

1. Work & gain knowledge of real Media world.

2. Explore the various functional areas and analyze how theoretical concepts
taught are applied in real situations.

3. Analyze best practices, system, processes, procedures and policies of a

company/industry in different functional areas and bring forward the
deviations.

4. Develop skills in report writing through data collection, data analysis, data
extraction, and presentation and draw lessons vis-à-vis firm or company
are where you are doing summer training in respect of print and electronic
media.

At the end of ‘Functional Exposure Internship’ the students are to submit a

written report in the standardized format and guidelines given to the students.

Scope of the Internship:

The internship would be based on the functional area (such as Electronic Media,
Advertising , Public relations etc.)

It may be noted that the chosen functional area is not restrictive. If the student
finds any other area interesting or otherwise, they must explore it and comment
on it in his /her report.
  LEARNING OUTCOME :
In my internship the most important thing I learned is teamwork
and working in hard situations as we all the whole world is fighting
with the pandemic situation. My internship was work from home to
maintain health safety for everyone .

In my internship , I worked as a digital content writer for the

company. I learned about the importance of words for anything we
are writing. I get to know more about the communication between
the company and our clients and how to impress them with our
words and gestures. All the work and learning were done in online
mode which is quite challenging but I am glad I learned everything
with all my dignity and capabilities.
