Given is the graph gives information about the employment rate among 6
countries in 1995 and 2005. In general, the figure had the tendency of rising in
all six countries mentioned, and males were much more likely to get
employed than their female counterparts.
A glance at the graph provided reveals, in both two years (1995 and 2005),
Iceland had the highest male employment rate, while Switzerland’s female
employment percentage was the highest.
Compare each countries employment gap between males and females in 1995
and 2005, the three countries namely Australia, Iceland, and Switzerland had
almost no change in 5 years (with 30%, 30%, and 10% respectively). In
addition, the gap narrowed considerably in New Zealand ( 35% in 1995 fell to
30% in 2005) and in the USA ( 15% in 1995 fell to 10% in 2005). In marked
contrast, the UK saw the widening of the gap from a mere 4% to 10%.
Ex 2: The graph below compares changes in the birth rates of
China and the USA between 1920 – 2000.
The graph provided reveals the changes in the fertility rate of two
countries namely the USA and China. The highlight is that there were
surprising similarities between the 2 countries in the fluctuation
pattern.
From the 1920s to the 1930s, China saw a rise in birth rate from 10% in
1920 to 15% in 1935, followed by a dip to only 5% stretching for around 5
years. Then China’s fertility rate soared to 20%- the highest peak in 1950
but after which rapidly fell off to about 8%. The next following decades
saw a steady decline in this figure.
At the same time, the USA birth rate fluctuated somewhere in between
11% and 13% but later also underwent a downturn to just 6%. So much
similar with China, exponential growth in the country’s fertility rate is
observed to reach about 15% in 1950 before a gradual fall

Given are the two pie charts give information about the 2016 revenue
and expenditure of a children charity organization in the USA. In
general, donated food was the main source of funds and they spent
almost all on program services
