What Are Your Observations or Generalizations On How Text/ and or Images Are Presented?

The document discusses how people from different cultural backgrounds can misunderstand each other due to differences in non-verbal communication and body language. It provides the example of several people interacting at an international arrival area who appear uncomfortable or confused because they are unfamiliar with each other's cultures. The document also notes that intercultural communication introduces opportunities for egocentrism and miscommunication if care is not taken to understand differences in cultural backgrounds.

1.

What are your observations or generalizations on how

text/ and or images are presented?

Base on our observations, all of the people in the picture are from
different cultural backgrounds. The first person there is struggling on
what to say to the man who is offering his card to him. While the man
who is handing out his card or business card is contemplating on what
to do since the man on the left is not saying anything thus creating a
misunderstanding between the two. Next is the woman, since maybe in
their culture what the guy in front of her is doing is rather rude or
offensive to some extent, but if we look at the point of view of the man,
he seems rather uncomfortable since the woman is evading his
personal space, through this misconception the body language can
affect the outcome of the situation between the two. Finally, the last
person is having troubles on what to do since he is new to the place
and he doesn't know what he should do or what he should say since he
is not familiar with the culture of the place so he seems rather awkward
in there. What’s happening is a chaos since they don’t seem to
understand each other and some are acting rude and disrespectful. The
generalizations on these image are people at the international arrivals
are talking and they are from different cultures. In conclusion, it’s hard
to get along with people you just knew because of their different
cultures. Intercultural communication is an interaction whereby people
from various cultural backgrounds foundations attempts to share
implications. With the complexity of various culture and dialects, the
chance for egocentrism most certainly introduces itself, particularly if
utilizing email as the type of communication. An initial introduction can
also fall victim to miscommunication as exhibited by the following
cartoons displaying non-verbal communication.
2. In what ways media present text/images about
various cultures?

Media could be present in many forms, a good example of it is

through the use of multimedia platform such as twitter, Instagram
and Facebook etc. In communicating with different cultures we
must be mindful of what we do since it maybe not applicable to
do it on other people. Most of us knew that social media gives us
knowledge by searching the information that we don’t know. It
also helps us to be more creative and it becomes easy for us to
interact with other people and sharing more ideas. On the other
hand, social media influenced our culture in negative ways.
People used this to spread wrong information and even
inappropriate pictures. The media must present them in
respectful manners without criticizing or punctuating an opinion
that defines them as right correct or incorrect and also by
educating people about different cultures and emphasizing on the
positive aspects. It can improve creativity and social awareness for
our society by interacting with people and sharing new ideas and
opinions about the text or images. Media should present
respectfully without judging various cultures and discriminating
them. Representing different culture can be a media challenge,
since it can disrespect or define them, since cultural elements are
significant and exceptionally thorough qualities of a society and it
is difficult to characterize them efficiently and restrict them.
When a media represents various cultures through texts or
images, it must be with respect without pointing them out as
incorrect or correct extracts and without creating stereotypes.
