MAKAUT Solid Mechanics Syllabus

This document provides a syllabus for a Bachelor of Technology course in Mechanical Engineering on the topic of Solid Mechanics. The course objectives are to present the mathematical and physical principles of linear continuum behavior in solids. The syllabus outlines 5 modules that will be covered, including topics like strains, stresses, constitutive equations, plane stress/strain problems, and applications to thick cylinders and rotating discs. Upon completing the course, students will understand deformation behavior of solids under loading and be able to obtain solutions for simple geometries. Recommended learning resources are provided.
