WHAT YOU WILL DO

Activity 4.1

1. I believe that if Titanic sank somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, someone should call for
help via a wireless telegraph. The message is then sent to any nearby ship, but it takes
time to receive it. This could be one of the reasons why there are so many survivors
who can provide even more accurate information on the disaster. Then news of the
incident traveled quickly through a newspaper and to other locations.
2. If the Titanic sinks in today's generation, the tragedy may be broadcast live on the
internet or through broadcasting media to a large audience. They could be a direct
rescue that saves many lives. They will also be able to obtain more precise details
regarding the tragedy.

The picture depicts how the media are the backbone of democracy. It serves as a
driving force for democracy and progress. The media also functions as a watchdog for some
government officials and business sector wrongdoings. Because media is where the people rely,
it must be honest and committed to its job in order to have a healthy democracy. The smooth
functioning of democracy is jeopardized if the media is biased.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

1. Traditional media has been the popular advertising medium. In the modern social media
era, it mostly refers to the means for broadcasting information. These kinds of
communication are the conventional and sturdy techniques that a business employs to
contact both consumers and other businesses. It refers to non-digital marketing or
advertising methods such as radio, television, and print media such as newspapers,
magazines, and books.

On the other side, New Media is considered as the internet or social media is a type of
digital media. It involves the internet, which refers to online techniques of promoting
various products using the internet as a platform. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and a
variety of other social networking sites are included. New media has become an
increasingly successful tool to market as more customers rely on their cell phones for
everything.

2. Roles of both media has shaped our democratic society today through delivering
accurate information so that people can make informed judgments and participate in
politics It also defends the public's right to know what is going on in our society.

One of its benefits, is the emergence of the Internet of Things which is a system of
interconnected computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals, or
people having unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data without requiring
human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.
