shown in fig.
4. Using Stodola’s Method, determine the lowest natural frequency of a torsional system shown in fig.

5. Determine the lowest natural frequency by Stodola method.

6. Determine the natural frequency and the mode shape of the system shown in figure by Holzer’s
Method. m1=2kg, m2=4kg, m3=2kg, k1=5N/m, k2=10N/m

7. Using Holzer method, find the natural frequencies of the system shown in figure. Assume
m1=m2=m3=1kg; k1=k2=k3=1N/m

values is 10 mm, determine the amplitude of motion of the vibrating structure when its
frequency is 50 rad/s.

is 600 rpm and the machine runs at 200rpm. Determine the magnitude of displacement, velocity
and acceleration of the vibrating machine part.
11. Formulate the equation of motion and frequency equation for the system shown in the figure.
Determine the natural frequencies of the system and draw the mode shapes. Take m1=m2=m,
k1=k2=k3=k.
12. A vibration pickup has a natural frequency of 7.5Hz and a damping factor of 0.5. Determine the
lowest frequency beyond which the amplitude can be measured within 1% error.
