Hyaline cartilage
This is the most common type of cartilage in the human body.
Where are they found in the human body?
Observe under X4, followed by X10 and finally under X40 objective lenses. Identify the chondrocytes. They are arranged in clusters known as __________________________. The clusters of chondrocytes fill the _____________________. Identify the territorial matrix and interterritorial matrix. What is the difference? Collagen fibrils are the predominant fibres in hyaline cartilage. Were you able to identify the collagen fibrils? If you could not identify, explain why you could not identify.
Identify the perichondrium. Why is perichondrium important?
Elastic cartilage
Elastic cartilage has the same histological features as hyaline cartilage except that it contains an abundant network of fine elastic fibres. Name the locations in the body where you can find elastic cartilage.
Observe under X4, X10, and X40 objective lenses. Draw and label your observations.

Identify the following structures:
