Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of sports in optimizing one’s health as a habit;
as requisite for physical activity assessment performance, and as a career opportunity.

Performance Standard: The learner leads sports events with proficiency and confidence resulting in
independent pursuit and in influencing others positively.
Basic Skills in Chess
G- Your goal is to perform basic skills in Chess.
R- You are a member of chess varsity team.
A-The target audience are your co-players in Chess Varsity Team and your coach.
S- You are a student-athlete. You are asked by your coach to demonstrate basic skills in his class through
video performance.
P- You will create a three-minute video performing basic skills in playing chess.

Orientation-Simulation via Video Presentation


Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of recreation in optimizing one’s health as a
habit; as requisite for physical activity assessment performance, and as a career opportunity.
Performance Standard: The learner leads recreational events with proficiency and confidence resulting in
independent pursuit and influencing others positively.

G- Your goal is to prepare an Orientation-Simulation to provide overview of the activities.


R- You are a camp staff.
A-The target audiences are the students and faculty members from different schools.
S- You work as a camp staff in a privately owned outdoor recreational park and campsite in the province. All-
year-round, students and faculty from different schools in your region go to your location to participate in
different outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, camping, and orienteering. The manager asked the whole
camp staff to collaborate and assign individual tasks in facilitating the activities. Each of you is to prepare an
orientation-simulation program that will prepare the participants for the actual activity. Since, we are in the
middle of health crisis, the manager asked the whole camp staff to create a video presentation of the
Orientation-Simulation program because the participants are not able to go on the actual orientation-
simulation.
