ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
MATHEMATICS
School Year 2020-2021

Mathematics can be difficult subject for elementary schoolchildren to grasp. This subject
concept often makes it challenging to explain to young learners. To make this subject much easier
even in the midst of pandemic using the modular distance Learning, variety of teaching tools and
different interventions that helps make mathematical concepts more concrete and demonstrate to
pupils how they will use math in their everyday live.

The school aims to enhance and nurture the skills and knowledge of the students through the
undying effort of mathematics teachers to give quality education by giving some interventions.
One of this is the “PROJECT MATH-TITIBAY SA PAG-ASENSO” this was implemented last
February 23 to March 12,2021 intended for Grade II Pupils. The proponent of this intervention
Project was Mrs. Beth Catimbang, a Grade II teacher. It was covered the Second Quarter least learned
competencies. The recipients of this intervention are the parents of Grade 2 pupils whose grade in
Math last school year was below 80 %. Six speakers from different schools shared their talents and
skills on the different techniques and strategies on how they can teach their children the easiest way
possible. Activity sheets were given after the discussion of the every speaker to be answered by
pupils and submitted after a week.

Due to the pandemic, the second part of the implementation of “PROJECT MATH-TITIBAY SA
PAG-ASENSO” was conducted only in the morning of March 5, 2021 with three speakers discussing
three least learned competencies in the Third Quarter MELC. This intervention enhanced the
numeracy skills of the learners and developed positive attitudes towards Mathematics.

Mrs. Maria Fe N. Martinez, teacher in

Brief Description: Teachers created group chat for parents for easy access on communications to parents
   For updates
 Personal dialogue
 Assistance to the lesson
Teachers provided activity sheets on numeracy for the slow learners
Teachers gave ample time/ considerations for the learners for the delayed submission
on modules.
Conducted seminar/ training for parents who need assistance in mentoring the
struggling learners.
Number of Learners: 45 (LD-5, MR- 8, MO- 10, DP-8, DB- 6, LU- 8)

Outcome: Decrease the no. of learners that needs intervention

Remarks: Continue giving of intervention

INTERVENTION AND REMEDIATION ACTIVITIES FOR LEARNERS
conducted from March 1-12, 2021
Title of Intervention/ CARES for Learning in Time of Covid ’19 Pandemic
Remediation: (Come, Assist, Read, and Enhance the Skills) in MATH
Brief Description: This CARES (Come, Assist, Read, and Enhance the Skills) in Time of Covid ’19 Pandemic
is an intervention intended for struggling learners in Mathematics in grade 3.
Teachers prepared the printed worksheets/activity sheet in Math with specific
direction/ instruction, pictures of counting objects as counters to help slow learners
answer the questions using the 4 fundamental operations.
The parents/ guardians, other adult members of the family and friends will be the one
to help the learners to do the CARES for them.
Follow-up from parents through;
 Face to face conversation during distribution/retrieval of modules
 Messenger/ GC/ Facebook / SMS

Number of Learners: 42 (AV- 10, SM – 17, MB-5, MFA-6, MC-4)

Outcome: Slow learners were able to answer correctly the activity given & they submitted the
module on time.

Remarks: Learners showed Improvements in the written test & performance test in the given
activity/ worksheet.
SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS ON THE ASSESSMENT NUMERACY & INTERVENTION IN MATHEMATICS FROM GRADES 1-3

I- Overview The Assessment Numeracy & Intervention in Mathematics from Grades 1-3 was
conducted to assess the numeracy learning of pupils and to give proper intervention/
remediation.

II- Summary Submitted grades of learners with 70-79 ratings

Quarter 1 Quarter 2
Grade 1 49 27
Grade 2 47 35
Grade 1 22 19

III- Analysis Based from the data gathered from the submitted grades of learners with 70-79
ratings in the 1st and 2nd quarter from grades 1-3, it showed that the conduct of
remediation/ intervention strategies decreased the number of slow / non -numerates
learners. The collaboration of teachers, parents/guardians, and pupils for the
intervention/ remediation is very much effective.

IV- Recommended Strategy Continue giving remediation/ intervention to slow learners.

Make use of different strategies; activity sheet, project Math-Titibay, CARES for
Learning, Online Numeracy Remediation.

Intervention/ Remediation and Enrichment Activities in Mathematics

School Year 2020 - 2021
1. Monitor progress to have a data on pupil’s performance.
2. Provide clear, specific feedback to parents on the Children’s mathematics success.
3. Provide practice to foster mastery, to help pupils learn to calculate the basic problem in math using the
4 fundamental operations.
4. Send in messenger visual representation of topics that pupils find difficulty in solving like video, pictures, graphs &
others.
5. Peer -assisted instruction or peer tutoring in Math Computation Provided
6. Academic Support and Enrichment through tutoring, homework assistance program with the help of the
parents/guardians.
7. Ask pupils to send video while reciting the multiplication table to help them enhance their memorization prowess.

8. Family support was greatly recommended.

9. Parent’s engagement in all school and classroom activities.

10.They were given 1-10 mathematical word problems to be answered and they will finish answering their Learning
activity sheet for compliance of required task for the 2nd quarter.
