    QUESTION 1

    You are a member of a project team that is developing a new system for Jasmine theatre. The
    Jasmine theatre requires a system that would maintain information about each event and tickets
    sold, and the patron to whom the tickets are sold. The system should also generate reports on the
    number of tickets sold/available per performance, and tickets purchased by a specific patron.

    a) You are planning to conduct an interview and survey during the requirement engineering
    task. Discuss the purpose of requirement gathering tasks for the Jasmine theatre project.
    Also, describe TWO (2) situations where interview and survey techniques can be used
    for the project respectively.
    10 marks

    b) Explain THREE (3) techniques of system analysis that you would use for the Jasmine
    theatre project and provide an example for each technique.
    15 marks

    QUESTION 2
    BigTransport is an application that serves as a booking platform, which the users use to rent a
    lorry, van, or 4x4 transportation. It provides services such as personal house moving, lorry
    transport, furniture disposal, and office moving. To use the application, the user needs to get a
    quotation such as choose vehicle type, address, and date. Next, the user will book for the
    required services such as manpower, shrink warping, or assembly service. Then the application
    will find the matching drivers by searching the nearest drivers and the user will book the driver.
    For the payment, there are two options, pay by cash or pay online using a credit card or online
    banking.

    Based on the given case study:


    a) Describe what is ‘Agile’ and explain TWO (2) processes involved in agile.
    (5 marks)
    b) Explain any FIVE (5) of the agile principles and provide an example of how each agile
    principle can be implemented in the BigTransport project.

    The Le Camion the company that proposes BigTransport has hired your company to build the
    application. This application will be built incrementally, each increment is supposed to be
    completed within 2 - 4 weeks, each cycle will have a reflection session to review the result with
    the stakeholders (Le Camion) and get feedback on the product improvement that can be made in
    the next cycle.

    You are confident that SCRUM would be the best development methodology for this project.

    a) Justify why would you suggest using SCRUM for this project? Also, describe TWO (2)
    strengths and TWO (2) weaknesses of SCRUM methodology for the project.

    b) Identify and describe FOUR (4) SCRUM ceremonies/events that must take place and the
    benefits of each to the project.

    System change over during the deployment phase is the process of putting a new system
    operational and retiring the old system. Distributing, installing, updating, and uninstalling
    software applications are common tasks in all enterprises. These tasks include a lot of processes
    and usually take up a lot of administrators' time and resources. Each of these tasks should be
    completed on individual computers.

    Explain FOUR (4) system change-over strategies and provide the main corresponding
    advantages and disadvantages for the respective strategies. Then, suggest ONE (1) system
    change-over strategy that is best suited for the Le Camion project stated in the previous question,
    provide your justifications.
