Explore Key Data
Understand data field, its types and relation amongst them. Also, based
on the issues in the data try to clean, transform and create.
Define KPIs that you will use to answer key questions. Consider including
a technical definition to make it extra clear (for example, a formula for
each KPI).
Exploratory Data Analysis
Look at the overall trends for your KPIs and plot the data.
Quantify trends that seem the most important to your KPIs (key numbers,
takeaways, or maybe something surprising in the data). Focus on
actionable findings relevant to the assignment, rather than data that is
just “interesting.”
What additional data would you want to support your analysis? This
could be new data or improvements to the existing data.
Try to quantify how important these questions or data are for the
business. What would the impact be if the business invested in these
areas?
Executive Summary
Keep your Executive Summary no more than 3–5 slides of content (the
shorter, the better). This is hard, but cut content through prioritization.
Only include points that are the most important to the business (for
example, highest ROI or critical for success).
