 Introduction

The main purpose of this project is to enlighten the reader about the establishment of
Tank-Weld Company. The Tank-Weld Company has been in business for over 45 years.
While Tank-Weld has been in business over the year the company gets to owns and
operates its own port and engages its own vessel, which has further enhanced the
efficiency of operations by offering a comprehensive and integrated logistics service.
Over the year the company has been one of Jamaica’s formidable conglomerates, with
subsidiaries catering to specific niches in the construction industry, broad range of
building materials, fabrication of steel structures, civil Engineering and contracting,
heavy duty haulage and equipment rental. The company has six locations and the main
branch is located in Kingston at Seaward Drive.

 Safety Program

Tank-Weld Company make sure that their workers are insured and that they wear safety gears.
The safety gears are issued once a year, with replacement or addition throughout the year if
necessary. The safety gear that their workers wear are safety goggles, helmets and steel toe
booth.

 Types and Function of Machine Used

Tank-Weld Company has many different type of machine. The machines that the company has
are:

Weaver Machine- A metal wire, often galvanized to reduce corrosion, is pulled along a
rotating long and flat blade. This creates a flattened spiral. The spiral continues to rotate past
the blade and winds its way through the previous spiral that is already part of the fence. When
the spiral reaches the far end of the fence, the spiral is cut near the blade. Next, the spiral is
pressed flat and the entire fence is moved up, ready for the next cycle. The end of every second
spiral overlaps the end of every first spiral. The machine clamps both ends and gives them a few
twists. This makes the links permanent. An improved version of the weaving machine winds
two wires around the blade at once, thus creating a double helix. One of the spirals is woven
through the last spiral that is already part of the fence. This improvement allows the process to
advance twice as fast as passable.

Roofing Machine- The machine name roofing because this machine is use to make zinc
sheets. These machines are special for manufacturing high quality steel roof and wall cladding
panels, aluminum Lock Roofs. Roofing machines are manufactured with advanced technology
from abroad. The whole line consists of uncoiled and its base, coil sheet guiding equipment, roll
forming system, post-cutting equipment, hydraulic station, controlling system, and run out table.
The machine working speed is about 10000-12000mm/min, hydraulic station power is 2.2km,
hydraulic pressure 10-12 MPA, main motor power 5.5km, controlling system PLC, size is
19000x1700mmx16s0mm and total weight about 12,000kg.

Power Drill- This is use for making holes in material such as metal. This tool with cutting
attachment or dividing tool attachment, usually a drill bit or diver bit

Lathe Machine- This machine is use for removing the undesirable in the form of chips form the
cylindrical surface.

The Grinding Machine- This a hand grinder and this machine is use for finish work pieces that
must show high surface quality and high accuracy of shape and dimension.

 Waste Disposal
The company waste disposal is scrapping metal. Scrap metal is consisting of recyclable material
left over from product manufacturing and consumption. The scrap metals are soled because it has
monetary value, especially recovered metals.

As a company that is exceeding over the years they make show that they advertised their products that
sales. They also put up profile bored to advertise their company and on the radio. On there advertisement
they that they sales the product at a good price.

Tank-Weld Company sells a lot construction material to consumer. Some of the product the company
sales are steel, door, cement, ply board, wire and mesh. The company also sales of their thing make for
example fencing, hardware and roofing.

 Products Made By Tank-Weld Company

Tank-Weld Company only makes three type of product. The three type of product that the company
produce are alu-zinc, chain- link fencing and expanding metal. Alum-zinc is cold rolled galvanized steel
with metal coating composed of Aluminum (55%), Zinc (43, 4%) and Cilium (1, 6%). Alum-zinc is use
make wall claddings, fence and garage door and other things. Chain-link fencing is a type of woven fence
usually made from galvanized or LLDPE-coated steel wire. The wires run vertically and are bent into a
zigzag pattern so that each "zig" hooks with the wire immediately on one side and each "zag" with the
wire immediately on the other. Expanding metal is a form of metal stock made by shearing a metal plate
in a press, so that the metal stretches, leaving diamond-shaped voids surrounded by interlinked bars of
the metal.
